Method 1 of 3: Use the iTunes Store app

Step 2. Search for music

Below, how to do it.

  • Press on Research. It's the magnifying glass icon at the bottom right of the screen.
  • This trick allows you to find a specific song, artist or genre of music. Tap the search box at the top of the screen. Type the title, the artist's name or a keyword then tap on the search result.
  • Press on Music. It's the musical note icon at the bottom left of the screen.

Step 3. Tap the price

To download a song or album, tap the price next to its title.

This button appears in the same place as the price button. Tap on it to confirm your purchase. The music you purchased will be downloaded to your iPod touch.

  • You will find the music you have purchased in the Music app under the tab Downloaded music from the library.

Method 2/3: Use the desktop version of iTunes

Step 1. Open iTunes on your computer

Step 2. Connect your iPod touch to your computer

Take the cable from your iPod and plug the USB end into your computer and the other end into the iPod charging connector.

If your iTunes has automatic music syncing turned on, all you have to do is open it and plug in your iPod for all the new songs to be added to your device

In the "library" section of the left side panel of the iTunes window, you will find different ways to view your music:

Click and drag a song or album from the library on the right of the window to your iPod icon on the left under the "Devices" section.

  • A blue rectangle will appear around your iPod icon.

Release the mouse or trackpad button to begin transferring music to your iPod.

Once all the music has been transferred, you can disconnect your iPod touch from the computer.

  • The music will be downloaded to your iPod touch.
  • You will find your music in the Music application under the tab Downloaded music from the library.

Advice

  • Do not unplug your iPod until iTunes says syncing is complete. If you do, the music will not be transferred to your device.
  • You can listen to a sample of the songs before purchasing them.
  • You can also buy music from iTunes Store or Spotify.
  • If you are going to buy most of the songs on an album, just purchase the entire album. You will save money.
