Using a third-party charger to charge any smartphone can lead to negative consequences namely overheating and poor charging. To differentiate a real Samsung charger from a fake, you should know details such as the location of the USB port, the output voltage, and the printing font. If you find that your charger is not genuine, you can purchase an original from an authorized reseller of Samsung products.
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Check a Samsung charger

Step 1. Check the quality of the charger
Original Samsung chargers usually don't have hard plastic edges, unsightly lettering, or bumpy or bent USB inputs and outputs.
You have the possibility to find out if a charger is original by using it to charge your phone. Fake chargers take longer to charge than an original Samsung charger. They take thirty minutes to charge the phone to 50% and heat up very often

Step 2. See if the writes are on the branch end
If the writings of your charger are on the same side as the connector, it means that it is not original.
On some Samsung chargers, you will see the information written on the same side as the USB port

Step 3. Look for the UL logo on the back of the charger
It is represented by a "UL" inscription which is in the middle of a circle and you should find it in the lower left quarter of the charger. UL is the acronym for Underwriters Laboratories, which is a reliable independent company dedicated to ensuring compliance with safety standards in the technology market. If your charger does not have this logo, you should not use it.

Step 4. Look for a USB output
If it is on the short side of the charger, it means that the latter is original.

Step 5. Consider upgrading
Since Samsung chargers often come in different models, you might have a hard time identifying the true from the false. For this, if you find that your charger is taking too long to charge the phone, or if the USB cable is damaged or twisted, you should consider purchasing a new charger, no matter how genuine the old one is.
Part 2 of 2: find a good charger

Step 1. Go to the Samsung site
If you need an original charger, you should buy one directly from the Samsung platform.

Step 2. Hover over the Mobiles tab
This section is located at the top of the page, on the left of the menu bar.

Step 3. Click Accessories from the drop-down menu
This action will redirect you to the mobile accessories page.

Step 4. Click View All Accessories
This action will open a page where you will see a complete list of mobile accessories for Samsung devices. You can find a charger there.

Step 5. Scroll down until you find Fast AC Charger
This is the standard charger that is supposed to come with the phone when you buy it in the store.
You also have the option of choosing a wireless charger at the top of the page. The latter is however expensive, but more difficult to reproduce as is the case with USB chargers

Step 6. Consider getting a new charger
Fake chargers can damage your phone, stop working, and even cause electrical fires. If you want to buy a new charger, click on the button Add to Cart which is on the right of the screen and follow the verification instructions.
