AutoCorrect is a form of spell check that activates when you write on your phone. It automatically corrects misspelled words. However, it can lead to a lot of confusion in cases where it changes the wrong words. Fortunately, turning off this feature is a snap.
Method 1 of 2: Samsung keyboard
Step 1. Open the Settings app
You'll find it in your apps drawer.
Step 2. Tap the My device tab then Language & input
This option can be found in the section Global management.
Step 3. Tap the gear next to Samsung Keyboard
The Samsung keyboard is the default keyboard for Galaxy S3.
Step 4. Turn off the Auto Replace switch
Flip the switch to the left. The auto-correction feature that replaces words when you press the space bar or add punctuation is now disabled. Your S3 will therefore no longer automatically replace misspelled words.
Step 5. Turn off the Text prediction switch (optional)
If you toggle this switch to the left, the Samsung keyboard will no longer provide you with suggested terms as you type. Text prediction doesn't automatically correct what you type, so you can leave it on if you still want to see suggestions appear.
Step 6. Uncheck the relevant boxes (optional)
If you wish, you can uncheck the boxes Automatic capitals, Automatic spaces and Automatic punctuation. This can allow you to have more control over your input. These features are aptly named. The Auto Caps feature capitalizes the first letter after a period or other type of final punctuation. The Auto Spaces feature makes sure all the words you type are separated by a space, and Auto Punctuation will add a period when you press the space bar twice in a row.
