AirDroid is an Android exclusive application that allows you to connect your device to your laptop through a wireless network. Working the same way as when you plug your device into your PC using a USB cable, AirDroid has some cool features that you might find useful in one way or another for easy file transfer or to send a message.
Steps
Part 1 of 5: Connect your devices
Step 1. Make sure your device and laptop are connected to the same wireless network
Connect both devices to the same network.
Part 2 of 5: Download and Install AirDroid
Step 1. Go to Google Play Store
To do this, you can go to the application menu and tap on the Play Store icon. You can also access it through the browser on your phone, PC or Mac.
Step 2. Type "AirDroid" in the search bar
Tap the first icon that appears. The name of the developer of the app would be Sand Studio.
Step 3. Tap Install
The download would start automatically and the app would be installed on your device.
Part 3 of 5: Open the app on your phone
Step 1. Go to the list of applications
Open it and tap on the newly installed AirDroid app.
Step 2. Read the introductory screen
Once the screen appears, read the instructions that appear on the screen until you reach the tab Log in
Step 3. Obtain the IP address
You will see the second URL bar at the bottom center. This will display an IP address with a x as a variable (it looks like this: http:// 192, 168.1.x: 8888).
Step 4. Enter the URL in the browser on your PC or Mac
Just open your favorite browser and type in the address bar, the IP address from step 3.
Step 5. Accept
Once the IP address is entered, the options Accept and Refuse will appear on your device screen. Just press Accept.
Part 4 of 5: Use AirDroid to Transfer Files
Step 1. Click on the Files icon in the application menu of your PC or Mac, once connected

Step 2. Drag and drop the files
To transfer a file from a PC to a phone, go to a folder and click Upload at the top right of the browser file window. This will open another window where you can drag and drop the files you want. The application will then start transferring files at a speed that will depend on the size of the file and the quality of your connection.
Part 5 of 5: Use AirDroid to Send Messages
Step 1. Click the messages icon
You will see this icon on the desktop of your AirDroid application in your browser. This will then open a window with all the contacts listed in the panel on the left.
Step 2. Click on a contact and start writing
It's similar to Skype or other messaging apps and is also easy to use.
Step 3. Send the message
With AirDroid, you can send messages to your phone contacts without the inconvenience of a small screen.
Advice
- You can stream videos from your phone's camera to the browser if you want, as well as play music in your library from the browser.
- AirDroid is an ideal app that you can use even with the phone charging.
- The AirDroid app has several other options, but the ones mentioned above are the most useful.
- To log out, just press the button Disconnect on the phone running the AirDroid app and the connection will be disabled.
