Google Cloud Print is a new technology that connects your printers to the Internet. You can access your personal printers from any computer or connected device. Google Chrome also uses this feature by connecting your printers, while keeping their settings and other sharing rules. The following article teaches you how to disconnect your Google Chrome browser from your printers connected to Google Cloud Print.
Step 1. Launch Google Chrome browser
Make sure your internet connection is active, as Google Cloud Print needs it.
Step 2. Click the Personalize and Control Google Chrome button
It is located in the upper right corner of the window and is represented by an icon representing three small horizontal lines. By clicking on it, you will see a drop-down menu appear.
Step 3. Scroll down the drop-down menu and choose Settings
A new browser page opens in a tab: it is the settings page.
Step 4. Click on Show advanced settings… You will find this blue link at the bottom of the page
By clicking on it, you will see new parameters appear.
Step 5. Scroll down and find Google Cloud Print
Step 6. Click on the gray button marked Manage
You are directed to a new page titled Devices.
Step 7. Disconnect the printer
Locate the section Standard printers. You will see a button marked Disconnect. Click on it and all your Google Cloud printers will be disconnected from Chrome.
- To use Google Cloud Print, you need a Google account. This disconnection operation can only be done if you are connected to this account.
- Once the operation is complete, the button Disconnect turned into Add printers. As you can see, it is very easy to switch from one status to another, and this in both directions.
