Nvidia develops drivers for Windows PCs that control graphics cards and graphics processors (GPUs - Graphic Processing Unit). Step 1. Open the control panel

Follow these steps to open the Control panel:

  • type Control Panel;
  • click on Control panel in the results list.

The link is under Programs in the Control panel. A list of all the applications and programs installed on your computer will then be displayed.

  • If you are using Windows 8, right click on the menu To start up and select Programs and Features.

Step 3. Find the NVIDIA driver

The programs are listed in alphabetical order. Scroll down to the bottom of the programs and click NVIDIA Graphics Driver. The main component is the NVIDIA graphics driver.

Step 4. Click Uninstall / Change

This is the second tab at the top of the list of programs. This will launch the NVIDIA Uninstall Wizard.

Step 7. Open the Control Panel

There are probably additional NVIDIA components still present. Among them you will find NVIDIA GeForce Experience, NVIDIA PhysX System Software, NVIDIA 3D Vision Controller, etc. Click on one of these components and select Uninstall / Change, then follow the instructions to uninstall it. Repeat the operation for each NVIDIA component still present in the list of programs.

Select the disk that contains your installation of Windows. The icon represents a hard drive with a Windows logo. Most of the time, this will be the “C:” volume. It can also be named “OS (C:)”, “Local Disk (C:)”, “System (C:)” or be named after your computer.

Part 3 of 3: Remove NVIDIA Keys from the Registry (Advanced Users)

This is the first folder in the list under the folder HKEY _USER in the left column of the window. Click on the arrow to expand it.

Repeat for all the folders that are in the folder HKEY_USERS. Click on the arrow, then on the folder Software of each folder contained in the folder HKEY_USERS. Find all folders containing the word NVIDIA and delete them.

Step 12. Restart your computer

After you have deleted all of the folders containing the word "NVIDIA", you will need to restart your computer. Once done, all NVIDIA drivers will then be completely removed from the Windows registry.
