Step 1. Open PowerPoint

Open PowerPoint and create a new presentation. Click on the PowerPoint icon on your desktop then on File in the upper left corner and New. Click on New presentation to open a new slideshow from which you can download your photos.

Step 2. Save your PowerPoint right away

Click on the floppy disk icon at the top right of the window. You will be able to name your slideshow and select a save folder.

Name your slideshow after something that will help you remember the photos in it. It will be easier for you to find it later

Step 3. Name the title page

Think about a title then click on the dedicated field to enter it. You have the option to add a name, date or photo.

Step 4. Add slides to your slideshow

You can choose from different layouts and different graphics. Click either on Home be sure Insertion and select New slide. You can also right click on any slide displayed in the left panel and select New slide.

Select a layout suitable for the photo. For example, you can select a slide with one field for the title and another for the image or even choose a blank slide

Step 5. Import photos

You can add one or more photos per slide. As you wish.

  • Double-click in the box dedicated to images (or go to Insertion > Picture > Insert picture) and select the photo you want to insert.
  • Click on OK Where Insert to insert the photo. If you don't like the result, select the photo and click on Picture to change it to another. You can also select the photo and click To delete to delete it.

Step 6. Rearrange the order of the photos

The slide sorter will help you determine the best order for the slides.

  • Look for the button Slide sorter in the lower panel of the window. Then click and drag the slides to the desired location.

Step 7. Add transitions to your slideshow

Transitions link the slides together and smooth the passage from one to the other. Just click on the tab Transitions in the bar at the top of the window and select one of the available options.

Step 8. Add a background

If you don't like the white space around the edges of your photos, right click on a slide and select Background formatting to change the background fill. You can use a solid fill, gradient fill, etc., and change the color, direction, and transparency. To standardize all your slides, click Apply everywhere.

Step 9. Add background sound to your slideshow

If you have music downloaded to your computer, you can add it to your slideshow to make it even more special. Music contributes to the vibrancy of the slideshow and is a good way to make it more attractive.

  • To add music, click Movie Where His in the tab Insertion. Click on Audio from file then on Music. When choosing the song to insert, click on the file then on Link to a file before clicking on Insert.

Step 10. Save your PowerPoint slide show

When you have finished adding photos and graphics, be sure to save your slideshow before closing the software. If you have already named and saved your slideshow at the very beginning, all you need to do is click the floppy disk icon in the upper left corner of the window again.

A list of documents will appear and you can click on Pictures in the left pane (or if your photos are saved to a USB drive, select them instead). This is where all the photos downloaded to your computer are saved.
