Method 1 of 2: Do the Cartoon Yoshi
Step 1. Draw two circles
One should be 20% smaller than the other and overlap.
Step 2. Add an angular oval on top of the large circle
Then draw a circle overlapping the bottom of the oval, and another horizontal oval, touching the base of the circle.
Step 3. Add the details of the head
Draw the eyes, eyelids and nostrils.
Step 4. Sketch a half moon for Yoshi's body
Step 5. Draw a circle in the center
Make another smaller circle inside the first circle.
Step 6. Using this sketch, draw the final features of the body
Step 7. Draw a series of four irregular triangles on the back of the head
This will form the bone plates.
Step 8. Draw the final rounded lines, using these triangles as a guide
Step 9. Draw two ovals and a circle overlapping slightly for the arm
Step 10. Sketch a set of straight lines
Add overlapping horizontal ovals, so you will have the hind leg and the shoe.
Step 11. Complete your final drawing using this sketch as a guide
Step 12. Copy the curves of the rear leg to make the second recessed leg
Step 13. Erase the sketch lines
Step 14. Color your drawing
Method 2 of 2: The simple Yoshi
Step 1. Draw a circle
Step 2. Add two ovals in the top right area of the eye circle
Step 3. Draw a circle of similar size on the right side of the existing circle
Then make a small oval for the mouth over the point of intersection.
Step 4. Draw a large oval for the body below the head leaving a small space
Step 5. Add two more ovals at the bottom of the large oval for the legs
Step 6. Draw a horizontal oval on each side of the body for the arms and hands
Also add additional ovals for feet and shoes.
Step 7. Add fingers to hands and trace the lines of the soles of the shoes
Step 8. Draw triangles on the right side of the head and add a curved tail
