If you have deactivated your Facebook account yourself, you can reactivate it by logging in again. However, if it was Facebook that deactivated your account, you will have to submit a dispute to regain your account and depending on the reasons for its deactivation, you may or may not regain access to it. You cannot find an account that has been deleted.
Method 1 of 2: Reopen an account deactivated by its owner
Step 1. Make sure you always have access to it
If you have temporarily deactivated your account, you can reopen it at any time. However, if you have chosen to delete it, you have fourteen days from the time you confirm its deletion to change your mind and reconnect.
If fourteen days have passed and you haven't turned back, it's too late, your account has been permanently deleted. Then try to create a new account
Step 2. Open the Facebook site
Go to facebook.com. You will find yourself on the home page.
Step 3. Enter your email address or phone number
Type them in the text field Email or phone which is at the top right of the page.
Step 4. Enter your password
Type the password you use to log into Facebook in the field Password to the right of the field where you entered your email address (or phone number).
Step 5. Click Connect
You will see it at the top right of the page. This will allow you to log into your account if it is still accessible.
Step 6. Click Cancel Removal if you see it
If you have chosen to delete your account, click Cancel deletion to return to your account. You can then return your Facebook account to the way it was before you chose to deactivate it.
Method 2 of 2: Submit a dispute
Step 1. Make sure your account is deactivated
Go to the Facebook site, enter your email address and password and click on To log in. If you see a message that says “Account Disabled,” your account is blocked by Facebook, which means you can submit a dispute.
If you can see your account as usual, it is not deactivated
Step 2. Open the My Facebook account has been deactivated page
Go to this page. This operation must be done on a computer.
Step 3. Click Request Review
This link is located next to "If you believe your account has been disabled by mistake, please" near the bottom of the page. The dispute form should open.
If the form opens on a page that asks you to log out, close your browser and reopen it. You may need to delete your cookies before you can continue
Step 4. Enter your email address or phone number
Type your email address or phone number that you use to log into Facebook in the field Login email address or phone number to the top of the page.
This should be an email address or phone number that you have access to at the moment
Step 5. Enter your name
Type the name you use on your Facebook account in the field Your full name.
It could be different from your marital name
Step 6. Upload a photo of your ID card
You can also use your driver's license or passport. Here is how to do it.
- Take a photo of the front and back of your ID and save it to your computer.
- Click on Choose files.
- Choose the photo you want to send.
- Click on To open.
Step 7. Add the details of your dispute
In the field Additional Information at the bottom of the page, enter the information you want to bring to the attention of Facebook. Here are a few examples:
- if your marital name is different from your name on Facebook;
- if you think someone has hacked into your Facebook account;
- if you have evidence that indicates that someone is responsible for abusive or illegal behavior on your Facebook account;
- if you have been the victim of harassment by someone you believe to be behind the behavior that led to your account being deactivated.
Step 8. Click Submit
You will find it at the bottom right of the form. Your dispute will be sent to Facebook. If they decide to reactivate your account, you will receive a message informing you that your account is now accessible.
- If you deactivate your account and don't set a reactivation date, it can in theory remain deactivated indefinitely until you log back in.
- If you are having trouble accessing your account because you forgot the password, you can change it.
