On Facebook, you can remove a tag from a post you've created or remove your name from another person's post, whether it's text, photo, or video. You cannot remove other people's IDs from other users' posts.
Steps
Method 1 of 4: Delete it on your own mobile post

Step 1. Open Facebook
Tap the white "f" icon on a dark blue background to open Facebook. If you're signed in, the app will open on your news feed.
- If you are not yet logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password then press Log in.

Step 2. Press ☰
This button is located at the bottom right of the screen (if you are using an iPhone) or at the top right (if you are using an Android). Tap on it to open a menu.
- On some versions of Facebook, this button looks like a 3 by 3 dots square grid.
- If your post is on another user's page, tap the search bar at the top of the screen, type the user's name, and then select their name which appears in the search results.

Step 3. Tap your name
Your name is at the top of the menu and opens your profile page.
If your post is on another user's page, tap that user's profile to open their page

Step 4. Go to the publication that interests you
Scroll down to the post that contains the ID you want to remove.

Step 5. Press

This button is located at the top right of the post and opens a drop-down menu.
- On some versions of Facebook, it's the button ⋯ which opens this menu.

Step 6. Select Edit Post
This option is in the drop-down menu and allows you to edit the post.

Step 7. Delete the identified name
Tap in front of the name and then press the space button on your phone or tablet to remove the identification.

Step 8. Press Save
This option is located at the top right of the screen. Tap it to save your changes and delete the selected ID (s).
Method 2 of 4: Remove it on someone else's mobile post

Step 1. Open Facebook
Tap the white "f" icon on a dark blue background. If you are logged in, Facebook will open on your news feed.
- Enter your email address (or phone number) and password if you are not yet logged in. Then press Log in.

Step 2. Find the publication in question
In the search bar at the top of the page, type the name of the person who created the post, tap their name in the search results, then go to their profile page.

Step 3. Scroll down to the post that interests you
You will be able to remove the identification once the publication is found.

Step 4. Press

This downward arrow is at the top right of the post and opens a drop-down menu.
- Depending on the version of Facebook you are using, you may need to press ⋯.

Step 5. Select Remove Identification
This option is at the top of the drop-down menu.

Step 6. Press OK when prompted
The ID will be removed from the post and you will receive a notification that the ID has been removed from the post.
Your name will still be visible in the post, but the post will no longer appear on your page and your name in the post will no longer link to your page
Method 3 of 4: Delete it on its own desktop post

Step 1. Log in to Facebook
In your web browser, go to this page to open your news feed if you are already signed in to Facebook.
- If you are not yet logged in, enter your email address (or phone number) and password before clicking Log in at the top right of the page.

Step 2. Click on your name
Your name should be to the right of the blue bar at the top of the Facebook page. Click on it to open your profile page.
If you posted to another user's page, type the user's name in the search bar at the top of the page, click their name, and then go to their profile page

Step 3. Scroll down to the problematic post
All you have to do is delete the identification.

Step 4. Click ⋯
This button is located at the top right of the post and opens a drop-down menu.

Step 5. Select Edit Post
The option Edit post can be found in the drop-down menu. Click on it to edit the text in the post.

Step 6. Remove the identification
Place your cursor in front of the name you want to delete and then press the Delete key. on your keyboard until the name is gone. The identified person will be removed from the publication.

Step 7. Click Save
This is the button at the bottom right of the post. Click on it to save your changes and delete the identification (s).
Method 4 of 4: Delete it on someone else's post on computer

Step 1. Open Facebook
Go to this page in your computer browser. If you are already logged in to Facebook, this will open your news feed.
- If you are not yet logged in, first enter your email address (or phone number) and your password then click on Log in top right.

Step 2. Find the post you want to edit
Type the name of the post owner in the search bar at the top of the page. Click on their name and then open their profile page.
If the post is on your own page, click your name at the top right of the window and then find the post you want to edit

Step 3. Scroll down to the post
Once on the post, you will be able to remove the identification.

Step 4. Click ⋯
This button is located at the top right of the post and opens a drop-down menu.

Step 5. Select Remove Identification
The option Remove identification is at the top of the drop-down menu.

Step 6. Click OK when prompted
The identification will be removed from the post. Your name will still be visible in the post, but the post will no longer appear on your page and the name displayed in the post in question will no longer link to your profile.
- If necessary, you can check the box at the bottom of the pop-up window before clicking OK to report the post.
