Are you having trouble deleting conversations you had with one of your contacts on Facebook Messenger? There is an easy way to do it.
Step 1. Open the Facebook Messenger app
The app icon looks like a blue bubble around a white lightning bolt.
- If the app opens to a conversation, press the button Return located in the upper left corner to return to the Home screen.
Step 2. Click the Home button
Thus, you will be directed to the screen where all your conversations are stored.
- On devices that run iOS, this button looks like a small house and is located at the bottom left of the screen.
- On devices that run Android, it also looks like a small house and is located at the bottom left of the screen.
Step 3. Press and hold your finger on a conversation
On an iPhone, slide your finger to the left on the conversation, you will then have different possibilities such as To delete, Deactivate…
- For an Android, press and hold your finger on the conversation you want to delete. By doing so, you will see a series of options appear. You will see Archive, Mark as spam, To delete, deactivate the notifications, To create a shortcut, Mark as read, Ignore messages and To block.
Step 4. Tap Remove
You can find this button in the third position in the list of options that appears on the screen.
Step 5. Tap Delete Conversation
By doing so, you will permanently erase all the conversation history you had with that contact.
