For some reason, you might want to delete a group chat on Facebook Messenger, but you don't know how to do it. Find out with some very simple tips to get there, whether you use a smartphone or the desktop version of the application.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: Delete Facebook Messenger Group Chat Using iPhone or iPad

Step 1. Tap the Facebook Messenger app icon
By doing so, you will open it. The app icon looks like a blue bubble around a white lightning bolt.
- If you haven't signed in yet, do so by entering your email address (or phone number) and Facebook password. Then press Log in.

Step 2. Tap the Home icon
It looks like a small house and is located at the bottom left of the screen.
- If the app opens to a conversation, press the button ← to return to the home screen.

Step 3. Tap Groups
You will find this button under the search bar at the top right of the screen. By doing so, a list of all your group chats will open.

Step 4. Tap the group you want to delete
By doing so, the conversations you had in the said group will appear in full screen.

Step 5. Tap the group name
You'll find it at the top of the discussion. Tap on it and the Group page will open.

Step 6. Scroll down and tap a group member
On the Group page you will find a list of all group members. Tap a member's name to view some options.

Step 7. Tap Remove from group
You will see this option colored red at the bottom of the screen. You must confirm the action in the window that will appear.

Step 8. Press Delete to confirm
The user will be removed from the group conversation.

Step 9. Remove all other participants
You should be the only remaining member before deleting the group.
If you leave a group without removing all other members, discussions will continue without you

Step 10. Tap Leave Group
You will find this option in red at the bottom of the Group page. You will need to confirm your action in a popup window.

Step 11. Press Delete to confirm
In this way, the group chat will be automatically deleted from your chat list.
Conversation history is stored in the Archived Discussions folder. You can access it from the web version of Messenger
Part 2 of 3: Delete Facebook Messenger Group Chat Using Android

Step 1. Tap the Facebook Messenger app icon

Step 2. Tap the Home icon

Step 3. Tap Groups
You will find this button under the search bar at the top right of the screen. By doing so, a list of all your group chats will open.

Step 4. Tap the group you want to delete
By doing so, the conversations you had in the said group will appear in full screen.

Step 5. Tap the info icon
It looks like an i inside a circle and is at the top right of the talk page. Tapping on it will open the Group Details page.

Step 6. Press the button with the three vertical dots
This button is next to the number of the group member you want to remove. By pressing it, a drop-down menu will appear.

Step 7. Tap Remove from group from the drop-down menu
The user will be removed from the group conversation.

Step 8. Remove all other participants
You should be the only remaining member before deleting the group.
If you leave a group without removing all other members, discussions will continue without you

Step 9. Press the button with the three vertical dots

Part 3 of 3: Delete a group chat with the web version of Facebook Messenger

Step 1. Open the Messenger app on a browser
Type www.messenger.com in the address bar of the browser, then press Enter on the keyboard.
- If you haven't signed in yet, do so by entering your email address (or phone number) and password. Then press Log in.

Step 2. Click on a group in the left panel
You will see a list of all groups and conversations in the left section of the browser window. Find the group you want to remove and click on it.
You also have the option of using the Search bar on Messenger at the top left if you remember the content of the conversation, the name of one of the members or of the group

Step 3. Click on the info icon
It looks like an i inside a circle and is at the top right of the talk page. Note that this icon can look like either a white i in a blue circle or a blue i in a white circle. You have to tap on the second skin to bring up the first one and thus open the group details on the right side of the screen. If it is already under the first appearance, skip this step and continue.

Step 4. Click on the button that looks like three horizontal dots
You will see this button next to the name of each group member and it will appear when you move the mouse cursor over one of the group members. By clicking on it, a drop-down menu will open.

Step 5. Click Remove from Group in the drop-down menu
You must confirm the action in the window that will open.

Step 6. Click Remove to confirm
This is the red button located at the bottom right of the window. By doing so, you will remove it from a group.

Step 7. Remove all other participants from the group
You should be the last remaining participant before deleting the group.
If you leave a group without removing all other members, discussions will continue without you

Step 8. Click on the gear icon in the right panel
You will find it under the information button in the upper right corner of the screen. A drop-down menu will open with group options.

Step 9. Click on Remove from the drop-down menu
You will need to confirm the action in the window that will open.

Step 10. Click Remove to confirm
This is the red button located at the bottom right of the window. This option will permanently remove the group chat from your chat list and chat history.
