Are you ready for school? If you're not sure how to go about preparing for a day of school, learn everything you need to know, from what to wear and snacks to school supplies.

Part 1 of 5: what to do the night before

Get Ready for School (for Girls) Step 1

Step 1. Prepare your outfit for the next day

This will save time in the morning, because you just have to put on your clothes, without having to think about the ideal outfit.

  • If you didn't have time to get your clothes ready the night before, but wake up very early in the morning, use that time to choose your outfit. If you're in a hurry, choose clothes that you wear often and that look great on you.
  • Don't try to put together a perfect outfit, just wear clothes you like.

Step 2. Make sure your homework is done

  • If your homework isn't finished, do it in the evening, before class, in study, or even at lunch break if you have to return it that afternoon.
  • If you never finish your homework on time, learn to organize yourself better.

Step 3. Get enough sleep

Going to bed too late will make it difficult to get up and not have time to prepare properly the next day.

  • Make sure you don't use your phone or tablet during the hour before you go to bed, as the screen light will prevent you from falling asleep afterwards.
  • If you use an alarm clock, remember to turn it on, so that you don't realize when you wake up that class has already started!

Part 2 of 5: waking up

Get Ready for School (for Girls) Step 3

Step 1. Wake up early

Ideally, wake up an hour and a half before you leave for school. The sooner you get up, the more time you will have to prepare for school.

If necessary, get into the habit of going to bed early. You will not be able to work to the best of your ability if you are only half awake in class

Part 3 of 5: Prepare

Get Ready for School (for Girls) Step 4

Step 1. Take a shower

If you shower in the morning, shower as soon as you wake up, so you can get dressed right away. If you shower at night, skip this step.

  • Wash your whole body every day. If you smell good people will be happy to spend time with you, otherwise they will distance themselves.
  • Wash your hair at least every other day. If your hair gets tangled easily or you want to make it even shinier, use conditioner every wash. Never use a brush out of the shower (unless it is specifically designed for wet hair): comb your wet hair with a comb.

Step 2. Dress well

  • Know that it is quite possible to express your personal style while respecting the school dress code.
  • Dress for the season: don't wear shorts and a tank top in the dead of winter!

Step 5. Wash your teeth

Do not skip this step: washing your teeth is essential to have fresh breath, but also to fight against cavities.

  • Remember to clean your tongue and palate.
  • Floss at least once a day. If you are in a hurry in the morning, floss again in the evening, so that you have time to use it correctly.
  • If you don't have time to brush your teeth, chew some whitening gum, but do it as infrequently as possible.

Step 6. If you want, apply makeup

Take your time (but remember that the time spent on makeup is taken from your sleep, breakfast, homework or time off: to go to school, it is not essential to wear makeup..

  • If you are curling your eyebrows, do so before applying mascara.
  • If you want your lashes to appear thick without using eyeliner, concentrate the application of mascara at the base of your lashes, to give the illusion of having spent more time on your eye makeup.
  • Prefer a natural look. You could very well just wear lip gloss or lip balm and put on a big smile.
  • School is not a fashion show, so be gentle with your makeup. Try on your new makeup before wearing it to school, and make sure your parents and school rules allow you to wear makeup.

Step 7. Style your hair

  • First of all, detangle your hair using a comb or brush.
  • Try not to use a curling or straightening iron every day, as the heat from these tools will damage your hair.

Part 4 of 5: prepare the food

Get Ready for School (for Girls) Step 11

Step 1. Eat a balanced and healthy breakfast

  • Orange juice and grape juice are rich in vitamin C.
  • Never skip breakfast or you will feel tired during the day.

Step 2. If needed, take your lunch or cash to buy your lunch

Always prepare more food than you need, so you never go hungry

Step 3. Wash your teeth

Do not forget to brush your teeth, in order to have fresh breath and to fight against cavities.

  • Don't forget to brush your tongue and palate.
  • If you don't have time to floss at lunch break, floss in the evening.
  • If you can't brush your teeth at school, pack some whitening gum.

Part 5 of 5: What to do when you leave for school

Get Ready for School (for Girls) Step 13

Step 1. Before you leave for school, take a final look at yourself in the mirror

You wouldn't want to realize that you're still wearing your pajama bottoms when you've already arrived at school!

Step 2. Make sure you have everything you need

  • Do you have money for the bus?
  • Did you take your coat or sweater?
  • Do you have your lunch or the money for your lunch?
  • Do you have all your school books?
  • Did you take your homework?

Step 3. Head to school with your head held high, your mind ready to learn and a big smile on your face

Don't worry too much about what other people think of you. Do your best to be confident, to be well presented and to be kind to others, and your good reputation will precede you

  • Put all your binders and books in your bag at night, so you don't have to look for them in the morning.
  • Also, try to finish chores before you leave for school, such as making your bed or feeding your animals.
  • Straighten or curl your hair in the evening so that you don't waste time in the morning.
  • Go to bed on time so you don't get tired.
  • Set your alarm to sound once early and once an hour later. So if you can't get up on the first ring, you'll feel like you've gained an hour of sleep.
  • If you have naturally straight hair and prefer to wear it curly, don't curl it every day. If you do it anyway, be sure to wash and moisturize them regularly and brush your curls every night.
  • Don't stay awake all night. Your body needs time to rest and prepare for the next day. Try to get up early, so that you can study or do whatever you need to do. Your lessons will be all fresh in your mind.
  • After taking your shower, pull your hair up into a bun. The next morning you will have beautiful curls.
  • Try to plan how your morning will unfold, including the times when you will complete each task. Thus, everything will go faster!
  • List everything you will need for school. Cross out each item as you put it in your bag.
  • Try to shower at night. Maybe your hair will not be so fresh, but you will save time.

  • Never go against the school dress code or your parents' rules. It's not worth getting into trouble just because you wanted to wear your new shorts.
  • When using a curling or straightening iron, be careful not to burn yourself.
