It is possible to delete a tweet, but also any retweets from your Twitter profile. You can do this from your computer or your phone. However, keep in mind that you cannot delete someone else's tweets, nor their responses to your tweets.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: From a phone

Step 1. Launch Twitter
Tap the app icon. This represents a white bird on a blue background. This will open the Twitter feed you are logged in to.
If you are not logged into your Twitter account, enter your email address (or username) and password, before continuing

Step 2. Click on your profile picture
It is a round icon located at the top left of the screen. A popup menu will then appear.

Step 3. Tap Profile
The option is at the top of the list in the popup menu that just appeared.

Step 4. Select the tweet to delete
Scroll down to find the tweet you want to delete, then tap it to open it.
- If the tweet you want to delete is a retweet rather than a tweet you posted, go to step Delete a tweet from your profile at the end of this section.

Step 5. Press

The button is located at the top right of the screen. This will open a popup menu at the bottom of the screen.
- On an Android device, this will be a popup window that will appear in the middle of the screen.
- If you want to delete a reply you posted on the tweet, scroll down to that reply.

Step 6. Tap Delete Tweet
This is the option displayed in red in the popup menu.
On an Android device, this option is located at the bottom of the popup window

Step 7. Delete your tweet
When prompted, click Clear. The tweet will then be deleted from your profile.
- On an Android device, you will need to tap Yes.

Step 8. Delete a tweet from your profile
If you have retweeted another user's content, you can remove it from your profile by tapping the green icon Retweet, located below the tweet itself, then selecting Cancel tweet, when prompted.
- You may need to scroll down to see the option Retweet.
- You cannot use the same menu that you used to erase an original tweet to erase a retweet.
Method 2 of 2: With a computer

Step 1. Open Twitter
Go to https://www.twitter.com/ using your browser. This will open your Twitter feed, if you are logged into your account.
If you are not logged into your Twitter account, enter your email address (or username) and password, before continuing

Step 2. Click on your profile picture
It is a round icon located at the top right of the screen. A drop-down menu will then appear.

Step 3. Click Profile
The option is at the top of the list in the drop-down menu that just appeared.

Step 4. Select the tweet to delete
Scroll down to find the tweet you want to delete, then click on it to open in a popup window.
- If the tweet you want to delete is a retweet rather than a tweet you posted, go to step Delete a tweet from your profile at the end of this section.

Step 5. Press

The button is located at the top right of the popup window that contains your tweet. This will open a drop-down menu.
If you want to delete a reply you posted on the tweet, scroll down to that reply

Step 6. Click Delete Tweet
The option is in the drop-down menu.

Step 7. Delete your tweet
When prompted, click Clear. The tweet will then be deleted from your profile.

Step 8. Delete a tweet from your profile
If you have retweeted another user's content, you can remove it from your profile by tapping the green icon Retweet, located below the tweet itself.
- You may need to scroll down to see the icon Retweet.
Advice
- Although you can't delete another user's tweet, you can report it. If you wish to do so, click on the icon
located in the upper right corner of the tweet, then select Report Tweet and complete the form that will appear.
Warning
- Although you can block users, you cannot delete replies to your tweets from other users.
- Unfortunately, it is not possible to mass delete tweets.
- It can take up to two weeks for a deleted tweet to disappear from Google search results. However, accessing a deleted tweet from Google search results will return an error.
