Method 1 of 3: Sign in to Snapchat

Step 1. Start the Snapchat app

Its icon is that of a white ghost on a yellow background.

If you don't already have the Snapchat app, download it first

Step 2. Click Log In

Step 3. Click the Username or Email Address field

It is on the first line of the page.

Step 4. Enter your username or email address

These identifiers must be identical to those provided when creating your Snapchat account.

Step 5. Click the Password field

This is the last line of the page.

Step 6. Enter your password

Step 7. Click Log In

This button is at the bottom of the page. If your username (or email address) and password are correct, you will be redirected to your account.

If you forgot your password, use the next method

Method 2 of 3: Reset your password using a phone

Step 1. Start the Snapchat app

Its icon is that of a white ghost on a yellow background.

Step 2. Click the Username or Email Address field

It is on the first line of the page.

Step 3. Enter your username or email address

This information is required to allow you to reset your password.

Step 4. Click Forgot Password?

. This button is located below the password entry field.

Step 5. Click via Phone

This option will send a verification link to your phone as an SMS. If the verification is successful, you will be able to reset your password in Snapchat.

In case you do not have a phone number registered with Snapchat, you should use the following method and the option "by email"

Step 6. Prove that you are not a robot

You will need to participate in a minigame to demonstrate that you are not spam software. The types of games vary, follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 7. Click Continue

This button is located at the bottom of the screen.

Step 8. Enter your phone number

Step 9. Click Continue

Step 10. Click Send by SMS

A verification code will be sent by Snapchat to the phone number you provided.

You can also click on I prefer to be called for a Snapchat employee to call you and give you the code.

Step 11. Open the Snapchat message

The latter contains a six-digit code with the words "Happy Snapping!" (Happy snapping) under the code.

Make sure at this point that you do not close the Snapchat app

Step 12. Enter the six-digit code into Snapchat

You must place it in the page enter confirmation code which appears.

Step 13. Click Continue

Step 14. Enter a new password twice

These two entries must be identical in order to continue.

Step 15. Tap Continue

This button is at the bottom of this page. If your two entries are identical, your password has been successfully reset! You can now log in normally.

Method 3 of 3: Reset a password using an email address

Step 1. Start the Snapchat app

Its icon is that of a white ghost on a yellow background.

Step 2. Click on the Username or Email field

It is first on this page.

Step 3. Enter your username or email address

This information is required to allow you to reset your password.

Step 4. Click Forgot Password?

. This button is located below the password entry field.

Step 5. Click by email

This option will send a reset password link to your email address registered in Snapchat.

Step 6. Click on the Email field

This is located above the “I am not a robot” box.

Step 7. Enter your email address registered in Snapchat

Step 8. Click on the box next to “I am not a robot”

This option is used to make sure that you are not spamming software.

You may be asked to participate in a minigame consisting for example of selecting squares where a given image is located. Then click on To verify.

Step 9. Click Submit

This button is at the bottom of the page. After clicking on Send, Snapchat will send you a verification email.

Step 10. Start your email messaging

Step 11. Open the password reset email

The sender should be "Team Snapchat" and the subject "Snapchat Password Reset".

If you don't see this email, make sure it's not in the "Spam" folder of your email (also look in the "Notifications" folder if you are using Gmail)

Step 12. Click on the reset link

It's in the middle of the email sent by Snapchat.

Step 13. Enter a new password twice

These two entries must be identical in order to continue.

Step 14. Click Change Password

Your Snapchat password has been successfully reset! You can now log into your Snapchat account as normal.
