You can use Snapchat to send more than videos and photos. With the Chat 2.0 update which is incorporated into the 9.27.0.0 version of the app, you have the option of using Snapchat as a full video chat service. This feature is free, although it can consume a lot of data. For this you should connect to a wireless network before making your call!
Steps
Part 1 of 2: Make a call

Step 1. Update Snapchat
The chat interface of the app has been improved from version 9.27.0.0 which was released in March 2016. You should use this format of the app or a later version in order to be able to access the new video features. You can check for updates using the app store on your device.

Step 2. Connect to a wireless network (optional)
Video chatting costs nothing on Snapchat, but it consumes enough data. If you have a limited plan, you should consider making video calls only when you are connected to a wireless network. This will save you from excessive data consumption.

Step 3. Start a conversation with the person to call
You can access the video features from a chat you have with any friend on Snapchat. You can make video calls on Snapchat with one person or with a whole group of users with up to 15 friends at the same time!
- You will find your recent chats on the far left of the screen on Snapchat. Swipe left to right on a conversation to open it.
- You can also start a new chat with any friend from this same screen. Tap the new chat bubble in the upper right corner, then select the friend you want to video chat with.

Step 4. Press the video button to initiate the call
This action will start calling the other person. Depending on her notification settings, she may be notified of the call even if she is not using the app.

Step 5. Wait for the person to pick up
If her notifications are turned on, her phone will ring even if her Snapchat isn't open. Otherwise, she will only see the call if she is using the app right now.
- The recipient has a few options for receiving a call. he can to concern, which means he'll see your video, but you won't see his. He can too join, making the call two-way and you will be able to see his video. The other person can also ignore, which will send you a busy message.

Step 6. Swipe down on your friend's video to minimize it
This action will allow you to see all the chat options. You can tap the video again to bring it back to full screen.

Step 7. Double-tap the screen to switch cameras
Do this on a call and you will switch from the face camera to the back camera and vice versa. You also have the option to tap the video and then tap the switch camera button.

Step 8. Select the face smiley
This allows you to add stickers to the conversation. These will be applied to the video stream and you will both be able to see them.

Step 9. Press the video button to hang up
This action will not actually end the call. However, you will be able to see the other person until you exit the chat or the other person hangs up.

Step 10. Close the chat to end the call
If the other did not hang up, you can end the call by exiting the chat. To do this, return to the list of recent discussions or switch between applications.

Step 11. Press and hold your finger on the video button
If you do this during a chat, you will send a video message to the recipient. If the person you want to video chat with is offline or just want to send a quick video message, you can do this by pressing and holding your finger on the video button in the chat window. This will allow you to record a ten second video that the other person will see when they are logged in.
