Learn how to save, insert and send music as a background sound in your Snapchat snaps.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: prepare the music
Step 1. Open one of your music apps
You can use apps like Apple Music or Spotify to add songs to your Snapchats.
Step 2. Choose a song
Find the song you want to associate with your Snap in your playlist or in your albums.
Step 3. Press the pause button
If your song starts playing automatically, quickly pause it before you start recording, so you can control when it starts playing in your video.
If you want a particular portion of the song to appear in your video, tap the start of that portion when your song is paused
Part 2 of 3: Record a song
Step 1. Open the Snapchat app
She is represented by a white ghost on a yellow background.
Step 2. Play the song
Snapchat will save all the songs playing in the background, as soon as you start shooting your video.
- On an iPhone, swipe up from the bottom of your screen to bring up the Control Center. You will see your song above some music controls. Press on ► to start the song. You may need to swipe left or right on your screen in Control Center to find the music controls. Then swipe down to close it once the song has started.
- On Android, swipe down from the top of your screen to deploy Notification Center. You will see your song appear next to some music controls. Press on ► to start the song. Swipe up on your screen to close Notification Center once the song has started.
Step 3. Long press ○ to record your video
Snapchat will record your video with the music playing in the background. Only the parts of the song that are played during recording will be captured.
Step 4. Release the large button ○
The recording of your Snap will then stop and you will be able to view it.
If you can't hear any sound or songs, press the volume buttons to turn on the sound on Snapchat
Part 3 of 3: Send the Snap
Step 1. Press the blue arrow to send
It is located at the bottom right of the screen.
Step 2. Tap each friend to send them a Snap
A blue check mark will appear next to their name.
Step 3. Tap Send
Snapchat will save and send your Snap to your friends. When they open it and play the Snap, they will be able to hear the song you recorded in the background.
