Learn how to sync your phone contacts with your WhatsApp contacts. You can import your contacts into WhatsApp by simply refreshing your contacts in the app. If the contact you want does not appear, you can add it manually or check that your Google contacts sync with your phone.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Sync your phone contacts with WhatsApp

Step 1. Open WhatsApp Messenger
The WhatsApp icon looks like a small green text bubble containing a white phone. Tap the WhatsApp icon on your home screen or in your apps drawer to open WhatsApp.

Step 2. Tap the DISCUSSIONS tab
This is the first tab at the top of the page. The list of all your WhatsApp chats will open. There you will also find the New Discussion button.

Step 3. Press the New Chat button
It's the green button with an icon that looks like a white speech bubble. It's at the bottom right of the screen. The list of all your contacts will be displayed.

Step 4. Press ⋮
These three small dots are at the top right. The menu will open.

Step 5. Tap Refresh on the menu
The page will refresh and your WhatsApp contact list will be updated. All new contacts from your phone are now imported to your WhatsApp contact list.
If you don't see a complete list of all your contacts, you may need to add a new contact manually, or make sure your Google contacts are synced with your phone
Method 2 of 3: Add a new contact manually

Step 1. Open WhatsApp Messenger
The WhatsApp icon looks like a small green text bubble containing a white phone. Tap the WhatsApp icon on your home screen or in your apps drawer to open WhatsApp.

Step 2. Tap the DISCUSSIONS tab
This is the first tab at the top of the page. The list of all your WhatsApp chats will open. There you will also find the New Discussion button.

Step 3. Press the New Chat button
It's the green button with an icon that looks like a white speech bubble. It's at the bottom right of the screen. The list of all your contacts will be displayed.

Step 4. Tap New Contact
This is the second option above your contact list. It's next to a green button with an icon that looks like a silhouette.

Step 5. Tap Contacts Where Create a contact.
Then choose Once only. If you're using a standard Android phone, you'll be using Google's Contacts app. Its icon is blue and looks like a silhouette. If you're using a Samsung Galaxy, you'll be using Samsung's Contacts app which usually has an orange icon that looks like a silhouette as well. Tap your app Contacts and press Once only Where Always down. This opens your Contacts app.
If you are using a Samsung Galaxy, you will need to select where to save this contact. You can save it to your phone, SIM card, Google account, or Samsung account

Step 6. Enter your contact details
Then press Save. Use the empty fields to enter the contact's first name, last name, company or work, phone number and email address. Leave empty the fields for which you do not have to enter anything. You must enter a phone number or an email. On Samsung Galaxy, the button Save is located at the bottom of the screen. On regular Android phones, it's at the top of the screen. Your contact will be saved. It will be added to your phone contacts and WhatsApp contacts.
If the contact does not appear immediately in your WhatsApp contacts, synchronize your contacts in WhatsApp
Method 3 of 3: Sync your Google contacts with your phone

Step 1. Open Settings

on your phone.
If the contacts on your phone are not synced with your Google account, you will not see the contacts saved to your Google account in WhatsApp or in your contact list. You can make sure that synchronization with your Google contacts is enabled in the menu Settings.

Step 2. Tap the small magnifying glass

Since the Settings menu differs from one phone model to another, the easiest way to navigate is to use the feature. To research. Tap the small magnifying glass at the top right to view the search.

Step 3. Type Accounts in the search bar and click Accounts
Grab Accounts in the search bar displays a list of results. By pressing Accounts in the search results, you access the menu containing the option Accounts.
- On standard Android phones, this option appears as soon as you open the menu Settings. On Samsung Galaxy, it is in the menu Accounts and backup.

Step 4. Tap Accounts
The Accounts menu will open. A list of all the accounts you are logged in to on your phone will be displayed.

Step 5. Tap the Google account to sync
Google accounts have an icon with a G red, green, yellow and blue. The email address associated with each account is listed next to the icon. Tap the account you want to sync with your phone.
If you don't see the Google Account you want to sync in your Accounts menu, you'll need to add it to your Android phone

Step 6. Tap Sync Where Synchronize the account.
The Sync menu will open, with a list of options related to your Google account that you can sync with your phone.

Step 7. Turn on the switch

next to Contacts.
All contacts saved to your Google account will sync with your phone. If your contacts don't appear in WhatsApp, consider syncing your WhatsApp contacts.
