Did you know that WhatsApp allows its users to send photos, video and audio messages? Discover with some very simple tips how to use these features on a device running iOS as well as on Android.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Upload photos and videos

Step 1. Open the WhatsApp application
The app icon looks like a green bubble around a white telephone handset.
If you've never used WhatsApp, learn how to set it up before continuing

Step 2. Touch the Discussions tab
You will see this icon at the bottom on an iPhone and at the top on an Android. Note that on Android you will see DISC instead.
- If the app opens on a conversation, you need to tap the icon Return which looks like ← and is located in the upper left corner of the screen.

Step 3. Tap a conversation to open it
After that, you can chat with the person. If this is a group, you will be able to chat with all contacts who participate in the chat.

Step 4. Touch the button that looks like a camera
You will see this button on the far left if you are using an iPhone and on the far right in the text field if you have an Android. Pressing it will open the camera, allowing you to take and send photos to your contacts.
- If you want to upload an existing photo, tap + (iPhone) or on the icon that looks like a paperclip (Android), then on Photo and Video Library (iPhone) or Gallery (Android). Tap the image you want to send, then tap the ► button at the bottom right.

Step 5. Take a photo or record a video
Select the white button at the bottom of the screen to take a photo or hold it down to start recording a video.
- If your phone has a front and rear camera, you need to tap the camera icon at the bottom right to change it.
- To add flash, tap the lightning bolt icon in the upper right corner until it turns yellow if you're using an iPhone. But if you have an Android, you will see the lightning bolt icon at the bottom left.

Step 6. Insert a caption
If you want to add a message to the photo or video, write it in the text box that appears on the confirmation screen.

Step 7. Touch ► to send the photo or video
It is a green icon. By tapping it, the recipient or all users in the conversation (if it is a group) will receive the image or video.
Once your contacts have opened the message, two blue check marks will appear next to the photo or video
Method 2 of 2: Send audio

Step 1. Open the WhatsApp application

Step 3. Tap a conversation to open it

Step 4. Touch and hold the button that looks like a microphone
You will see this button on the far right of the text field. By holding it, recording will start.
- On the web version of WhatsApp, click the microphone icon only once. Then click on To allow in the window that will appear at the top left to start recording the message.

Step 5. Release your finger to send the message
This way, your recipient or the users participating in the group will see it.

Step 6. Cancel the message to re-record it
If you don't want to send it anymore, slide your finger to the left while holding down the microphone button.

Step 7. Wait for your recipient to open the message
Once your recipient (s) see it, two blue check marks will appear next to your audio.
