It is possible to turn off automatic correction on WhatsApp. The app itself does not offer the choice of turning autocorrect on or off. You need to turn off the auto-correction feature on your smartphone or computer, so as to avoid auto-correction on WhatsApp.
Steps
Method 1 of 5: On iPhone

Step 1. Open your iPhone's Settings
Click the settings icon. This is represented by gears on a gray background.

Step 2. Scroll down the list and click General
It's at the top of the list, above the bottom of your iPhone screen.

Step 3. Scroll down the list and click Keyboard
This option is located roughly in the middle of the page.

Step 4. Click on the green Automatic Correction command.

The command then becomes white

. This means that your iPhone will not do any automatic correction, on your WhatsApp messages and in any app where you enter text.
- You can also click on the green command Automatic capitalization to deactivate this function.
Method 2 of 5: On Android

Step 1. Open your Android's settings
Drag the top of your screen to bring up the notifications menu, then click on the icon Settings

in the upper right corner of the menu.
On some Androids, you sometimes have to slide the screen with two fingers to bring up the notifications menu

Step 2. Scroll down the list and click System
This option is near the bottom of the page.
- If the option Language and seizure Where Language and keyboard appears in the Settings page, click on it and skip the next step.

Step 3. Click Language & Input
This command is near the top of the System menu.

Step 4. Click Virtual Keyboard
This option is at the top of the page. You will then see the list of your different keyboards.

Step 5. Select your keyboard
Enter the name of your default keyboard (Google).

Step 6. Click Spell Checker
The option is at the top of the menu.

Step 7. Click on the blue Autocorrect command.

The command then becomes gray

. This means that your Android will no longer perform any automatic correction, either on WhatsApp or in any other app in which you enter text.
- Likewise, you can deactivate the option Automatic capitalization.
- Depending on the size of your screen, you sometimes have to scroll down the list to find the option Autocorrect.
Method 3 of 5: On a Samsung Galaxy

Step 1. Open your Samsung Galaxy Settings
Swipe up from the top of the screen and click on the icon Settings

. It is located in the upper right corner of the menu.

Step 2. Scroll down the list and click General
This option is near the bottom of the settings menu.

Step 3. Click Language & Input
This option is at the top of the page.

Step 4. Click Virtual Keyboard
This option can be found in the section called KEYPADS.

Step 5. Select your keyboard
Choose your current keyboard (Samsung keyboard).

Step 6. Click on the blue Text Prediction control
The command is to the right of the mention Text prediction up the screen. The command then becomes white. This means that your Samsung Galaxy will no longer perform any automatic correction, either on WhatsApp or in any other application in which you enter text.
Method 4 of 5: On Windows PC

Step 1. Open the start menu

Click on the Windows logo in the lower left corner of the screen.

Step 2. Type autocorrect
You will see the menu of automatic correction parameters appear.

Step 3. Click Automatically correct spelling errors
This option is at the top of the start menu.

Step 4. Click

The order can be found under the title Automatically correct spelling mistakes. This will turn off the autocorrect feature for all programs in Windows 10 including WhatsApp.
Method 5 of 5: On Mac

Step 1. Open the Apple menu

Click on the Apple logo in the upper left corner of the screen. This gives you access to a drop-down menu.

Step 2. Click System Preferences…
This option is at the top of the drop-down menu.

Step 3. Click Keyboard
This option is in the window System Preferences and gives access to a new window.

Step 4. Click Text
The tab is at the top of the window Keyboard.

Step 5. Clear the Automatically correct spelling errors check box
This option is at the top of the window Keyboard. Thus, your computer will no longer perform any automatic correction, whether it is on WhatsApp or in any other program in which you enter a text.
Advice
- If you are using Android, you will notice that the keyboard options are sometimes indicated differently. For example, your Android might have a menu Language and keyboard instead of an option Language and seizure.
