Step 1. Go to the WhatsApp Web page

You will be able to do this on Opera, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. All you have to do is open a new window or tab in your browser and type web.whatsapp.com in the address bar. After that, a QR code will appear on the monitor. Scan the code with the mobile phone to be able to activate and link your account.

Step 2. Open the WhatsApp application on your smartphone

Tap the app icon on your smartphone. It looks like a green bubble around a white telephone handset.

On your phone, tap the settings icon that looks like a gear to open the app's main menu. After doing so, press WhatsApp Web. By doing so, a box will appear and it will allow you to scan the QR code on the screen.

Step 4. Scan the code

Point your phone's rear camera at where the code is located on the PC screen. Position the box so that you can read it. You don't need to touch or press anything. Once the code is read, you will automatically be logged into WhatsApp Web.

Step 1. Look at the interface of WhatsApp Web

It is subdivided into two panels. The panel on the left lists the latest messages or conversations, as if it were an inbox. Click on one of your conversations to open it and it will appear in the panel on the right.

Step 2. Choose a message to read

You will see the list of conversations in the left panel. Scroll down and click on the post you want to see.

Step 3. Read the message

The selected discussion will appear in the panel on the right. You can scroll the chat window up or down to read the messages it contains.

Step 1. Choose a contact

Enter the name of the contact you want to chat with in the search field that you can see at the top of the left panel. Click on the name of the person you wish to speak with in the list of results that will appear.

You can also continue a conversation from one of your existing messages. Simply select said message to continue chatting as described in the Read messages section

Step 2. Bring up the chat window

It will open in the panel on the right. The name of the person or the names of the participants (if it is a group) will appear in the gray bar below the green one.

Step 3. Send a message

You will see the input box at the bottom of the panel which is on the right. Write your message in this area and press Entrance to send it. After doing so, it will appear in the left panel.

  • You have the option of attaching a photo to your message. To get there, click on the icon that looks like a paperclip located in the gray bar at the top, then click on the option Photos & Videos. After that, a file explorer window will appear. Use it to find the images you have on your computer and click on the one you want to share.
  • You can also insert emoticons in the message you want to send. To do so, just click on the smiley icon, located next to the text entry box. You can choose from a wide variety of icons, smileys, and images. Click on the one (s) you want to use.

Step 4. Read your messages

Any messages you have exchanged during a chat will appear in the chat window. Each of them will be marked with the name of the sender and the time of sending. Read them as they appear.

Step 1. Delete a discussion

If you don't want to save a conversation, you can delete it. While keeping the chat window open (in the right panel), click on the button that looks like three horizontal dots (located in the gray bar). After that click on Delete discussion. This step is optional and you can skip it if you want to keep the chat.

Step 2. Log out

If you end up using WhatsApp Web, you can log out by clicking on the button that looks like three horizontal dots and is in the gray bar of the left panel. Click on Logout. This way you will quit WhatsApp Web and the QR code will reappear on the main page of WhatsApp Web.

Step 3. Use WhatsApp on your phone

If you want, you can continue chatting with your phone after turning off the PC.
