Sometimes, you may receive emails from an email address that is unknown to you, but which inundates you with messages. It is possible to block the sending of a message from an email address with Outlook messaging (formerly Hotmail). Note that this operation is not possible from the mobile application.
Step 1. Go to the messaging site
Go to the Outlook site. If you are already logged in, you will be taken directly to your inbox.
If you are not yet logged in, Outlook will ask for your credentials. You will therefore need to enter your email (or phone number) and your password to connect
Step 2. Press the ⚙️ button
In the upper part of the Outloock window on the right, click on ⚙️.
Step 3. Select Options
In the context menu, at the end, you will find Options, click on it to access a new page.
Step 4. Click Blocked Senders
On the page Options, section Mail in the sub-section Spam from the menu on the left, select Blocked senders.
Step 5. Press in the area
In the middle of the page you will find an area called Enter a sender or a domain here. Click inside this space. This is where you will enter the email you want to block.
Step 6. Enter the email address
In the box, correctly write the email address of the sender you want to block. It must be in this form [email protected]
Step 7. Press the Enter key
Once the address is written, press the key Enter on your keyboard so that the address is added to the list of addresses to be blocked by Outlook.
- It is also possible to add the address by clicking on the + which is at the end of the line.
Step 8. Click the Save button
Above the page title Blocked senders, there is a button titled Save. By pressing it, you will save the email address and thus you will no longer receive anything from this sender.
