Learn how to prevent your contacts on Imo.im from being able to see if you are active on the application. If there is no longer the option to switch to invisible, you can temporarily block each of your contacts to prevent them from seeing your status or sending you a message.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: On a mobile phone
Step 1. Open the Imo.im application
Step 2. Tap Discussions
This is located at the top right of the screen.
Step 3. Select a chat with the person to block
Step 4. Tap the person's name
It's at the top left of the screen, next to the Back arrow.
Step 5. Go downstairs and press Block
Step 6. Choose Yes to confirm your choice
This person can no longer see when you are active on the application.
- When you want that person to be able to contact you again, press ☰ bottom left in Imo, choose Settings, Blocked contacts, then press Unblock.
- You will need to repeat these steps for each of the people you want to block or unblock.
Method 2 of 2: On Windows
Step 1. Open Imo.im on the Windows Desktop
To block someone in the Windows app, you must first remove them from your contacts. This means that when you add them again as a contact, they will receive a notification. If you just want to be invisible to a person, temporarily and without them knowing it, use the method on a mobile phone instead
Step 2. Click on Discussions
Step 3. Right click on the conversation with the person to block
Step 4. Tap Remove contacts
Step 5. Click Yes to confirm your choice
Step 6. Tap on the conversation
You will then see the following message appear: This person is no longer in your contacts.
Step 7. Click Block
This person can now no longer see when you are online.
- When you want the person in question to be able to see again when you are online, click on the menu imo at the top left of the screen and choose Blocked users. Then click on Unblock next to the name of the person of your choice.
- You will need to repeat these steps for each of the people you want to block or unblock.
