You can send a video to someone by email using Gmail. If the video is less than 25MB, you can send it as a regular attachment. Otherwise, you'll need to upload it to Google Drive and then send the recipient a link to the video in question. This is possible either on the desktop version of Gmail or on the mobile version.

Step 1. Open Gmail

Tap the red "M" icon on a white background to open your inbox if you are already signed in to Gmail.

This icon is located at the top right of the screen.

  • You may need to press OK to allow Gmail to access files on your phone or tablet.

Tap the location of the video (for example Gallery Where Film), locate the file you want to import and then select To choose.

  • On Android, first tap Attach a file.

Step 5. Type the recipient's email address

Enter the email address of the person you want to send your video file to.

To add a subject to your email, type it in the Subject field. To add text, type it in the Compose your message field

Step 6. Press the send arrow

The submit button looks like a paper airplane and is located in the upper right corner of the screen. Your email will be sent to the recipient you specified.

The person you sent the email to will be able to open the video in the Gmail app by tapping the preview at the bottom of the message

Step 1. Open the Gmail website

Go to Gmail. If you are already logged in, this will open your Gmail inbox.

Step 3. Enter the recipient's email address

Type the email address of the person to whom you want to send your sample video.

If you want to add a subject to your email, click on the Subject field then type your subject. To add a message, click on the main field then type your message

Click on the folder where your video is located on the left side of the window.

It's the blue button in the lower left corner of the email window. Click on it to send your email with the video attached.

Step 1. Upload the video to Google Drive

Depending on whether the video is on your computer or on your phone or tablet, this process varies.

  • On mobile: open the Google Drive app, tap +, Import, select Photos and videos open the location of your video, tap it and choose Import.
  • On a desktop computer: go to Google Drive and sign in if you haven't already. Click on New, Import a file, go to the location of your video, click on the video in question and select To open.

Tap the option Drive (you may need to scroll down first) and then on the video.

  • On Android, tap Insert from Drive in the drop-down menu, choose the video you want to insert and then press To select.

Step 6. Press the send arrow

It's the airplane icon at the top right of the screen.

Step 7. Choose Continue if prompted

If this is your first time sending this type of file to someone, it will give your recipient permission to view the video you send them.

  • On Android, check the box Display then press Send at the command prompt.

Step 1. Upload the video to Google Drive

The process varies depending on whether the video is on your computer or on your phone (or tablet).

  • On a desktop computer: go to Google Drive and sign in if necessary. Click on New, Import a file, go to the location of your video, click on the video and then choose To open.

Click on the video you want to send to your recipient.
