Select a restore period from the list. You must choose a period prior to the date on which the changes were made. For example, if you changed contacts yesterday, the minimum restore period should be the past two days.

If you do not want to use the default periods, you can restore from a custom period while taking into account the limit of the last 30 days

This button is at the bottom of the restore period window and will restore your contacts to the state they were in during the selected restore period.

This button is located in the left sidebar.

The export feature is not available in the preview version of Google Contacts (enabled by default). You will automatically be redirected to the old version of Google Contacts

By default, the option Export all is selected. You can also choose to export only specific groups or contacts.

  • To export only specific contacts, you must select the check mark next to each contact you want to export, before selecting the option Export from the menu.

Select an export file format for your contacts. Google CSV allows you to import contacts from one Google account to another. This is the best option for backing up a Google account. If you frequently use Microsoft or Apple products, you can use Outlook CSV or vCard formats.

Select a contact file then click on To open. The file will appear in the import window.

Advice

  • At this time, contact restoration cannot be done in the Google Contacts mobile app. You must use the website.
  • Keep the contacts export file in a secure place such as an external hard drive.
  • If you update your contacts frequently, you need to export your contacts file regularly.
