Gmail is currently one of the most widely used email clients. Among its most practical features is the ability to connect multiple email accounts, whether or not it is a Gmail account, to your device within the Gmail application. However, sometimes it may be necessary to delete an account from your Gmail app. Learn how to do it with ease.
Step 1. Open the Gmail app
It is represented by a small M-shaped envelope.
Step 2. Tap on your profile picture at the top right of your screen
It can either be your profile picture or the first letter of your email address on a colored background.
The layout of the Gmail app should be the same whether you are on Android or iOS, but it may be different if you are using an older version of the app. If you don't see your profile icon at the top right, try tapping the ☰ menu at the top left of the screen, then tap on your profile picture at the top of the menu list
Step 3. Tap Manage accounts on this device
This should be the last option in the context menu.
Step 4. Touch Remove Account under the account to remove
You may need to select an account before seeing this option, depending on the device you are using
Step 5. Press Delete again to confirm
- If you want to remove another account, press the arrow
to return to the previous page and repeat the steps you just did.
- If you delete the only account that is in your Gmail app, you will also be asked to enter your password or PIN for security reasons.
