Gmail offers the ability to send photos as attachments to any recipient, whether on the mobile app or on the website. Attached files cannot exceed 25 MB per email.

Steps

Method 1 of 2: Use the mobile app

Step 1. Open Gmail

Tap the red "M" icon to open the Gmail app. If you are already logged in on your phone or tablet, the application will open in your inbox.

If you are not yet logged in, enter your email address and password first

Step 2. Tap the pencil icon

This icon is located at the bottom right of the screen and opens the new message window.

Step 3. Type your email

Enter the recipient's email address in the field TO, add an object in the field Object (optional) and type your email in the field Write your message.

Step 4. Tap the paperclip icon

You will find it at the top right of the screen.

Step 5. Select a photo

Tap a photo in one of the albums at the bottom of the screen. You can also long-press a photo to select it and then tap more photos if you want to add more.

  • If you're adding multiple photos at the same time, tap INSERT at the top right of the screen before proceeding to the next step.

Step 6. Press the submit button

It's the paper airplane icon at the top right of the screen. Tap it to send the email and attached photos to the selected recipient.

Method 2 of 2: Use the website

Step 1. Log into Gmail

In your web browser, open this page to view your inbox if you are already logged into your account on your computer.

  • If you are not yet logged in, first click on Log in then enter your email address followed by your password.

Step 2. Select New Message

This button is located under the Gmail heading, to the left of the inbox. An empty email form will appear on the screen.

Step 3. Type the text of your email

In the field TO, enter the recipient's email address, add a subject in the field Object (optional) then type your message in the dedicated field.

Step 4. Click on the paperclip icon

This icon is at the bottom of the window New message. Click on it to open a window from which you can add files from your computer.

If you prefer to add a photo from Google Drive, click on the triangular Google Drive icon instead

Step 5. Select a photo

Open the folder that contains the photo on your computer and then double-click on it.

  • To import multiple photos, long press the Control key, click each of the photos you want to add and then select To open.

Step 6. Click Submit

This button is located at the bottom left of the new message window. Click on it to send your email and attached photos to the specified recipient.
