Omegle instant messaging is a site where everyone can express themselves more or less freely, which explains why we can find ourselves banned for such and such a reason. If this happened to you, you could, if you don't have the patience to wait for the ban to end, get a new IP address from your ISP. You can also use a virtual private network (VPN) service to bypass the ban, however it will cost you a few dollars. Finally, there is no page on Omegle that allows you to challenge their decision.

Method 1 of 2: Create a new public IP address

Step 1. Wait a few days to be unbanned

Omegle bans never exceed a week. If you are not too embarrassed by this ban, you just have to wait to regain the use of Omegle. If you can't wait, you're going to have to create a new public IP address.

Step 2. Go to Google

Type in the search field "my IP" and you will see appear, after validation, your public IP address. This is the address that Omegle takes into account for its connection and it is this same address that the site uses to ban you.

Write down this address somewhere, so you can see, later, if it has changed

Step 3. Have the right material

This method works well with a router and modem, both connected by cable. If you have a router that also acts as a modem ("combo") or if you connect your modem directly to the computer, it may not work. Your computer must also be equipped with an Ethernet port.

Step 4. Turn off the power to your modem

Most Internet Service Providers (ISPs) assign you an IP address chosen at random by one of their servers when you connect for the first time. Therefore, if you reset your modem, you will be assigned a new IP address.

While almost all of us have a dynamic IP address, some users are not so lucky. If you are in this situation, read the next part

Step 5. Unplug the modem from the router

Each time a modem detects a new MAC address, it assigns it a dynamic IP address. You will connect your modem directly to your computer (without going through a router), which will give your modem a new MAC address, in fact, that of your computer.

Step 6. Do not reconnect your modem for an hour

Granted, there may be times when you get a new IP address assigned in 30 seconds, but sometimes it takes an hour or two. This theoretical latency period is specified in the contract you signed with your Internet service provider.

Step 7. Connect your modem directly to the computer

To do this, use an Ethernet cable that you plug into the modem and into the Ethernet port of your computer.

For this to be successful, make sure your computer is disconnected from any wireless network

Step 8. Reconnect your modem

Then, wait a few minutes, the time it kicks into action and above all, connects. Your computer, if everything has been done correctly, should establish an Internet connection through the modem.

Step 9. Double check your public IP address

Type "my IP" into Google. If your IP address is different from the previous one, great, you have successfully changed the address. If not, try going through a virtual private network.

Step 10. Reinstall the connection with the router

If the previous method works, then you just have to start the operation again, but this time you will have reconnected the modem to the router. The modem is then assigned the router's MAC address, which gives you a new IP address. You now know what to do whenever you need a new IP address.

Method 2 of 2: Use a VPN service

Get Unbanned from Omegle Step 11

Step 1. Find a fast and secure VPN service

The principle of VPN allows you to browse the Internet with an address that is that of the VPN server, your IP address, for its part, is not visible to the sites. You are browsing in a way anonymously. Omegle therefore sees that you are connecting from a VPN server and not from your home network. On the other hand, connections made by VPNs are often slower than a direct connection: try to find a fast VPN, especially if you are videoconferencing. If the VPN you choose doesn't allow you to sign in to Omegle, you can usually get a refund.

  • Some of the most popular VPN services include IPVanish, ExpressVPN, and HideMyAss.
  • To access Omegle, you can also use a proxy server, but usually they are already blacklisted by many sites. If you want to see it for yourself, read this article.
  • If you are often banned, this VPN solution may cost you quite a bit. It would then be much more economical to use the method seen above.

Step 2. Sign up for a VPN service

When registering, you will be asked to enter a username and password. This is required to be able to connect to a VPN.

Step 3. Get the list of VPN server addresses

It is in this list that you will inevitably find a connection address which will grant you a new IP address. The list can often be found on the support page or in the VPN welcome email.

Step 4. Log in to the VPN

The procedure for connecting to a VPN actually depends on your computer's operating system.

  • Under Windows: right click on the icon Network from the taskbar. Select Network and sharing center, then click Set up a new connection or a new network. There, select Login to your workspace, then Use my Internet connection (VPN). Enter the address of the VPN server, then your username and password
  • For Mac OS X: click on the menu Apple, then select System Preferences. Then click on Network. At the bottom of the list of networks, click the button +. Click on the drop-down menu Interface and choose VPN. Click on To create, then select the created connection in the left frame. Enter the address of the VPN server, then your username and password. Then simply click on To log in.

Step 5. Go to the Omegle site

If you've successfully logged into your VPN, you should normally be banned from Omegle. If not, check your network connection to see if you are connected to the VPN and not to the network you normally use.

If you happen to be banned with this VPN, all you have to do is try another one from the list

  • If none of this worked and you were therefore still banned from Omegle, you could still try to go through some sites that offer a service quite similar to VPN. Try:

    • Chatroulette at:
    • Camzap at:
    • Chatrandom at:

  • Be sure to read the conditions imposed by Omegle so that you are not illegal.

According to Omegle's policy, access to messaging is prohibited for children under the age of 13. For minors under 18, parental authorization is required. Are prohibited: anything related to nudity, pornography, harassment, disclosure of personal information of others, defamation, violation of intellectual property, any inappropriate behavior that could offend other users or moderators. Controlling everyone being impossible, abuses are inevitable. Omegle cannot, despite its vigilance, be held responsible for such deviant acts, which would not be the case for the authors of the comments in question. Disconnect if you feel shocked by what you say. Omegle is committed to banning anyone who behaves inappropriately or for any other reason

  • When you are banned from Omegle, you always wonder what you could have said or done. Certainly, you have unknowingly violated some clause of the site rules. The causes of banishment are always more or less the same: unchallenged, aggressive language. Don't spam the people you talk to either.
