Almond oil is generally used to nourish the skin and hair and is an important ingredient in many beauty products. However, you can also use it for cooking at home. If you want to know how to make your own almond oil at home, all you need is a blender and a little patience. You can also invest in an oil press if you want to produce almond oil often and in large quantities.
Ingredients
Prepare almond oil with a blender
- 2 cups of raw almonds
- Between one and two c. to c. olive oil
Using an oil press
2 cups toasted almonds
Steps
Part 1 of 3: prepare almond oil with a blender

Step 1. Put the almonds in the blender
They should be dry and cool. Make sure the blender is clean and ready to use.

Step 2. Start by mixing the almonds on the lowest speed
You should start at a low speed to blend the almonds slowly and carefully. If you mix them at a high speed, it might make the process more difficult.

Step 3. Stop the blender to clean up the batter buildup
When you start to mix the almonds, you may find that a dough forms which takes the shape of a ball. It will accumulate on the edges of the blender. Stop the blender to scrape the edges and mix the dough that has accumulated there with the rest of the almonds. You are going to have to do this several times during the process, so be careful.

Step 4. Blend the almonds at a higher speed
As you blend the almonds, you can increase the speed by setting it to medium or even high. It will help the process.

Step 5. Add the olive oil when the almonds are well mixed
Once you have obtained a rich and creamy almond paste, you can add a tsp. to c. of olive oil before continuing to mix. If you find that the dough is not as creamy as you like, you can add a second tsp. to c. olive oil.

Step 6. Keep the almond paste
Once you have finished blending the almonds, you can put them in a container, such as a glass jar or plastic box, before keeping them at room temperature for two weeks. This should be enough for the oil in them to separate from the pulp.

Step 7. Filter the oil
To collect as much oil as possible, you can try tilting the container and allowing the oil to drain into a separate container. You can also use a filter or colander to separate the oil from the almonds.

Step 8. Use the oil
You can use the oil obtained to treat your skin or hair or to do aromatherapy. You can also keep the remaining pulp. You can use it for cooking or even mix in a little rapeseed oil and salt to spread it on your toast.
Part 2 of 3: use an oil press

Step 1. Place the almonds on top of the oil press
An oil press costs more than a blender, but it will allow you to recover more oil from your almonds. You must mount the press on a stable table or surface.

Step 2. Start turning the crank
Simply turn the crank slowly and gently to extract the oil from the toasted almonds. Unlike the blender, you won't have to worry about dough build-up on the sides.

Step 3. Use a cup to collect the oil
Simply place a cup under the almonds and wait for the oil to flow into it. It will become easier and easier to turn the crank of the press.

Step 4. Use the oil
You can use the oil right away and you don't have to wait several weeks for it to separate from the pulp of the almonds like you do with the blender. However, the oil is going to be a bit cloudy, which doesn't make it any less effective. If you want the oil to be clearer, just put it in a container and let it sit for a day so the airborne particles fall to the bottom of the container.
Part 3 of 3: use almond oil

Step 1. Use almond oil to moisturize your face
You can use almond oil to moisturize your face during the day. It can help you soften your dry or rough skin and it can also protect your skin. You can take care of your face using almond oil without any added chemicals. To use it, you just need to wet your hands with lukewarm water and apply about half a tsp. to c. of almond oil on your face by massaging your skin.
It is not necessary to flush out the oil. Use it as a natural moisturizer and let it penetrate your skin

Step 2. Use sweet almond oil to prepare a face mask
You can also use almond oil to take care of your skin. You just need to mix the ingredients needed to prepare the mask in a small container to obtain a paste that you can apply on your face with your fingers. Apply the mask in the morning and leave it on for 30 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. Here are some simple ingredients you can use to prepare your mask:
- 1 C. to s. almond oil
- 1 C. to s. honey
- 1 C. to s. lemon juice

Step 3. Use almond oil to prepare a facial scrub
Face scrub helps you cleanse and exfoliate the skin, remove dead skin cells and dirt. You just need a c. to c. of salt or sugar for each tsp. to c. almond oil, then mix the ingredients together until you get a solid paste. Gently apply this paste on your face with your fingers to spread it on your skin and rinse it off with lukewarm water.
Do not rub too hard. If you rub the exfoliator too hard on your face, it could irritate your skin

Step 4. Use almond oil as a conditioner
If you want to use almond oil as a conditioner, you just need to take one tsp. to c. and rub it on your damp hair. Use a comb to work the oil in and completely cover your hair. Wait about 30 minutes for the oil to take effect and wash your hair with shampoo to rinse it out.
If you do this at least once a week, you should have healthier hair in no time

Step 5. Use almond oil on your dry hair
You can also use almond oil just like you would use any other oil. Put a c. to c. of oil in the palm of your hand, rub it on your hair and run your comb through it to spread it out. You can use almond oil to keep your hair smooth and shiny and to prevent split ends.
Do not apply more than once a day or every other day or your hair may become too oily

Step 6. Use almond oil to prepare lip balm
If you want to use almond oil to take care of your lips, all you need to do is get a few simple ingredients to make your own lip balm at home. All you need to do is melt the ingredients in a water bath at the lowest possible temperature, remove it from the heat, and pour the mixture into balm tubes before letting them sit for 24 hours before you can use them. You can use the following ingredients:
- 1 C. to s. shea butter
- 1 C. to s. coconut oil
