If you've asked someone as a friend on Snapchat or someone sent you a request, you can check the status of the request in the app. You can do this on an iPhone or a smartphone running Android.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Verify a received request

Step 1. Open Snapchat
Tap the icon representing a white ghost on a yellow background

. If you are already logged in to your account, you will be taken directly to the camera screen.
- If you are not logged in, tap Log in and enter your email address and password.

Step 2. Tap your profile icon
It is located in the upper left corner of the screen.

Step 3. Tap Add Friends
The option is near the top of the screen.

Step 4. Look at the pending requests
Read the names in the section They added me. Any name in this section is that of a Snapchat user who has added you as a friend.
- To add the contacts in this list to your friends, tap Accept to the right of their name.
Method 2 of 3: View accepted requests on an iPhone

Step 1. Open Snapchat

- If you are not logged in, tap Log in and enter your email address and password.

Step 2. Check the pending requests
If someone has just accepted you, you'll find a notification in the friend requests section. To search for notifications, do this.
- Tap your profile icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
- Select Add friends.
- Look up the names in the section They added me near the top of the screen.
- If you don't see any name, go back by tapping the button at the top left of the screen and then tap the X in the upper left corner.

Step 3. Tap the friends icon
It represents a speech bubble and is located in the lower left corner of the screen. You will access the list of your recent Snaps and Chats.

Step 4. Create a new Chat
Tap the speech bubble icon at the top right of the screen. A list of your friends will appear.

Step 5. Find the friend to verify
Scroll down until you see the name of the person for whom you want to check the status of the friend request.

Step 6. Tap the name
Keep your finger pressed for about a second. A drop-down menu with contact information will appear.

Step 7. Read the information
If you see a blue button that says Added to the right of the person's name, they haven't added you yet. Otherwise, she accepted your request and added you as a friend.
Method 3 of 3: View accepted requests on Android

Step 1. Open Snapchat

- If you are not logged in, tap Log in and enter your email address and password.

Step 2. Check the pending requests
If someone has accepted you, you'll find a notification in the friend requests section. To search for notifications, follow these steps.
- Tap your profile icon in the upper left corner of the screen.
- Select Add friends.
- Look up the names in the section They added me near the top of the screen.
- If you don't see any name, go back by tapping the button at the top left of the screen and then tap the X in the upper left corner.

Step 3. Create a Snap
Point your smartphone camera at any object and tap the round capture button at the bottom of the screen to take a photo.

Step 4. Tap Send To
This button is located at the bottom right of the screen. You will access your contact list.

Step 5. Select the desired friend
Tap the name of the contact for whom you want to view the status of the friend request.
You may have to scroll down to find it

Step 6. Send the Snap
Tap the Send button at the bottom right. The Snap will be sent to the person you selected and you will return to your friends page.

Step 7. Refresh the page
Tap the friends screen and slide your finger down and then lift it off. You will then see the updated information.

Step 8. Check the status of the Snap
Look at the icon under the name of the friend you sent the photo to. If you see a red arrow, the person has added you as a friend. If you see a gray arrow with the indication Waiting, the person has not added you yet.
