Eyelash extensions are very beautiful and allow you to put on makeup much faster in the morning. You need to take care of them to keep them in good condition and you can keep them for as long as possible. They are easy to clean and it is important to do so to prevent irritation, infections, blepharitis, and other problems that can be bad for your eyes. All you need is a gentle cleanser, a small brush, and good drying technique.
Steps
Part 1 of 3: washing extensions

Step 1. Choose a cleanser
Look for a product that is free from oil and alcohol. The oil in particular can attack the glue on false eyelashes. Look for a foaming face wash or mild face soap. You can also use baby shampoo.
- Be careful with baby shampoo, as it can have a drying effect.
- You can dilute foaming cleanser in water to make it gentler.
- There are also cleansers formulated specifically for eyelash extensions.

Step 2. Wash your eyelashes
Wet them with lukewarm water. Apply some cleanser to your fingertips and gently rub your lashes and eyelids in vertical movements. Don't rub side-to-side or pull on your lashes as you may damage them or tear the extensions out. When you are finished, rinse off with plenty of lukewarm water.
Try to wash the roots of your lashes well, as this is where bacteria and dirt collect the most

Step 3. Avoid wipes
Do not use a cotton ball or wipe to clean your eyelashes, as the fibers can get stuck in them and will need to be removed carefully. Also, cleansing wipes can peel or tear off your false eyelashes.
Part 2 of 3: blow dry and comb the extensions

Step 1. Let your eyelashes dry
After washing them, gently dab your face with a dry towel to absorb the water, but avoid your eyes to protect your extensions. Let your lashes air dry naturally. To speed up drying, you can still dab them with a little toilet paper wrapped around your finger.
If you want to take extra care with your extensions, just let your lashes sit on the toilet paper for a few seconds to absorb the water

Step 2. Use a hair dryer
Set it to the lowest temperature and direct the air stream over your lashes for about ten seconds per eye. Hold the device at arm's length so you are not too close to your eyes. Do not use this method too often, as it may deteriorate the glue on the extensions.

Step 3. Comb your eyelashes
Use a small, clean, dry mascara applicator and gently roll it over your lashes. Then use it to give them a bit of volume. Don't sink it between the roots of your lashes.
Part 3 of 3: Maintain Extensions

Step 1. Clean them regularly
Take the time to wash your false eyelashes at least a few times a week, if not every day. Remove dust and other small particles between washes with lukewarm water and a brush stroke. To do this, lightly wet your eyelashes with a little lukewarm water and comb them very delicately.

Step 2. Pay attention to the oil
To protect the glue of your extensions, do not put greasy, moisturizing products such as shampoo, conditioner, glycerin, or oily cream on or near your lashes. When you shower, tilt your head back to keep these products out of your eyes. You can also try applying a very fine and light line of 70 ° alcohol to the base of your lashes once a week to remove fatty deposits that may be left behind by perspiration when you exercise a lot.

Step 3. Do not rub your eyes
Avoid rubbing or pulling on your eyelashes. If you're not careful, you could stick them together and peel the extensions off your skin. You may also tear out your real eyelashes. If the extensions are irritating or bothering you a lot, have them removed by a professional.

Step 4. Choose your makeup wisely
Avoid creamy eyeshadows and apply powdered ones normally, focusing on the corners of your eyes. Do not use liquid eyeliner, as it can damage false eyelashes. The most important thing is never to put on mascara. It will damage your extensions and they will form dry and ugly patties.
