Following a user on Facebook will allow you to see updates and posts from that particular user in your news feed. The Follow feature was recently replaced by Subscribe, but works exactly the same. You can follow users directly on their profile pages and even enable the subscription feature on your own profile so that other users can follow your public updates.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Subscribe to a Facebook profile

Step 1. Go to Facebook

Step 2. Log into your Facebook account using your email address and password

Step 3. Type the profile or name of the person you want to follow
Do this in the search bar at the top of your Facebook session.

Step 4. Click on the profile you want to subscribe to from the search results

Step 5. Click the Subscribe button located near the top of the user's profile
The Subscribe button will only be available if the user has activated this function in their profile settings.
- If the button Subscribe exists, but is grayed out, click Like instead of subscribing to updates from that person.

Step 6. Click Home at the top of your Facebook session
You will now see updates and posts from that person or organization that you subscribed to, in your news feed.
Method 2 of 2: Activate the subscription feature on your profile

Step 1. Go to Facebook

Step 2. Log into your Facebook account using your email address and password

Step 3. Click on the ginning icon in the upper right corner of your Facebook session
Then select Account settings.

Step 4. Click Subscribers on the left sidebar of the settings page

Step 5. Check the box next to Activate Subscription
Now any user who wishes to follow you, will be able to subscribe to you and see your updates, even if you are not friends.
Advice
- You can unsubscribe from a user at any time by returning to their profile page by hovering over the Subscribed button and selecting Unsubscribe. If it's a page, click I like and select I no longer love. On your wall, position the mouse pointer over the name of a person's post.
- Most prominent people and organizations such as celebrities, politicians, and businesses will have the subscription feature enabled on their accounts. Stay on top of the news from these organizations or your favorite users by searching for and subscribing to their profiles.
- All of your friends on Facebook are subscribed to you by default. If you no longer want a particular user to follow your updates, you must block that user in your privacy settings.
