Most smartphones that have the Facebook application automatically import your Facebook contacts to place them in the phonebook. This can add hundreds or even thousands of contacts and e-mail addresses to your phone book, making it more difficult to find numbers. You can adjust the Facebook app settings to desynchronize Facebook contacts on iPhone or Android.
Method 1 of 2: Desynchronize contacts on iPhone
Step 1. Turn on your iPhone
Step 2. Go to the Settings app
Step 3. Find the Facebook app in your app settings list
Step 4. Find the section called Allow these apps to use your account
In this section you should see Calendar, Contacts and Facebook appear. Set the Contacts switch to the off position.
- Repeat the operation with the Calendar application if you do not wish to receive automatic reminders of birthdays and events that appear on your Facebook profile.
Step 5. Return to the Home screen
Click on the phone app and go to your contacts.
- If the operation did not work, go back to the settings of the Facebook application and click on the button Update contacts, making sure that the Contacts button is always in the off position.
Method 2 of 2: Desynchronize contacts on Android
Step 1. Open the Facebook app on your Android
Step 2. Find the menu that allows you to adjust the settings of this application
This is usually hidden behind the status, message and notification icons. Click on More if you can't find the general menu right away.
Step 3. Go to settings
There can be several kinds of settings: account settings, privacy settings, and other settings. Look for app settings or general settings.
Step 4. Go through the various settings until you find Contacts or Sync Contacts
Select this option.
Step 5. Look for the option to Delete Facebook Data
Press OK to remove them.
