When using Instagram, you can search by trending and subject, however, these searches are stored in memory by the service. If you don't want Instagram to keep or display your latest searches, you can clear your history. The handling is the same on phones, tablets and computers.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Clear history on a phone

Step 1. Open Instagram
The app icon is an orange, pink, and purple multi-colored camera. You will find it on your home screen or in the applications directory.

Step 2. Tap your profile picture
This is located in the lower right corner of the screen. This will open your profile page, from which you can access the settings.

Step 3. Press ☰
These are the three horizontal lines at the top right of your screen.

Step 4. Click Settings
The gear icon is usually located near the bottom of the menu.

Step 5. Select Security
You'll find the option at the top of the menu next to the crest icon.

Step 6. Clear the history
Tap Clear Search History (on iOS) or Search History. This button is near the bottom of the menu next to the magnifying glass icon.

Step 7. Select Erase All
The option is at the top right of the screen, above the list of your searches.
- Confirm the deletion. Press on Erase everything to confirm your choice. Your history will then be completely erased.
Method 2 of 2: Clear history using a browser

Step 1. Open
The process is the same as on a phone or tablet.

Step 2. Click on your profile picture
It is located at the top right of your screen.

Step 3. Click Settings
The button is next to the gear icon at the bottom of the drop-down menu.

Step 4. Select Privacy & Security
You will find this button in the menu on the left of the page.

Step 5. Select View Account Information
Scroll down the page until you reach the header Account Info and you will then see this option.

Step 6. Click Show All
The button is located under Search history, which is itself in the right column under the heading Account activities.

Step 7. Click Clear Search History
It's a button with blue text. After clicking on it, a popup window will appear.

Step 8. Select Erase All
You may see Yes, erase everything, you will need to click on it to continue. After clicking on Erase everything Where Yes, erase everything, the page will refresh and the search history will be gone.
