iTunes gives you access to a lot of content and allows you to organize your files. You can download it to your Windows or Mac computer, but also to your iPhone or iPad if you've deleted it (as it's usually installed by default on iOS). iTunes for desktop is different from the iTunes Store app for iPhone and iPad. The 2 programs have very different functionalities.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Download iTunes to Computer
Step 1. Open this page in a web browser
If you would like to receive updates from Apple, type your email address in the field to the left of the window
Step 2. Click Download
This is the blue button on the left (or right) of the window.
- The site will automatically detect the type of computer used. If not, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Get iTunes for Windows Where Get iTunes for Mac.
Step 3. Select Save
Step 4. Find the downloaded file on your computer
Step 5. Double-click on the file
Step 6. Follow the on-screen instructions
To complete the installation of iTunes, follow the instructions that appear on the screen. The program is now available on your computer.
Method 2/3: Download iTunes to iPhone or iPad
Step 1. Open the App Store app
It is the blue icon with a white "A" in a white circle.
This app is different from the iTunes Store for iOS
Step 2. Tap Search
The button To research looks like a magnifying glass and is at the bottom (if you're using an iPhone) or top of the screen (if you're using an iPad).
Step 3. Type itunes store in the search box
The search box is at the top of the screen.
Step 4. Select iTunes Store from the search results
Step 5. Tap GET
This option is to the right of the iTunes Store icon.
Step 6. Tap INSTALL
This button appears instead of GET and allows you to download the iTunes Store app to one of your iPhone's home screens.
Method 3 of 3: Download iTunes on Windows from Microsoft Store
Step 1. Open Microsoft Store
The Microsoft Store icon looks like a shopping bag with the Microsoft logo on it. If you are using Windows 10 in S Mode, your system only supports apps available from Microsoft Store.
Step 2. Type iTunes in the search box
iTunes should be in the list of the most popular applications. The app icon looks like a musical note.
- By clicking on it, you should see Apple Inc as the developer and the words “Apple Music” on the background image.
- You can also go directly to this page.
Step 3. Click Get or Install
The app will be downloaded automatically.
Step 4. Follow the on-screen instructions
They will allow you to migrate and uninstall iTunes for desktop. You can only have one of the apps and not the 2. Once iTunes is installed, you will be able to search for music, organize your iPhone, and listen to music on your device.
