It is common for Excel spreadsheets to contain a significant amount of information, but if you want to print only part of that data, you can highlight the only items that interest you, make settings. appropriate printing, then activate the print command for the selected area. A similar process can be used to print only certain sheets in a binder selectively. Those who want to fine-tune the formatting of the print will be able to use the layout before enabling printing.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Print a group of selected cells

Step 1. Open your spreadsheet in Excel
Double-click on the one that interests you or follow the “File” menu then “Open” and select the sheet on which you will have to work.

Step 2. Highlight the group of cells to print
Click on the first one in the group, then drag your mouse cursor while holding down its left button until all the cells you want to print are highlighted.

Step 3. Open the “File” menu and then select “Print”
This menu, located at the top left of the Excel window, will offer you an option called "Print settings".

Step 4. Choose “Print Selected”
A drop-down menu located just below the active printer will offer you to choose which parts of your workbook should be printed. Choose the option labeled "Print Selected" to print only the group of cells that you highlight.

Step 5. Click on the “Print” button
This button located at the top of the menu will activate the printing of the group of selected cells, the rest of the sheet will be excluded.
Method 2 of 3: Print a range of cells

Step 1. Open your spreadsheet in Excel
Double-click on the sheet that interests you or follow the “File” menu then “Open” and select the sheet on which you will have to work.

Step 2. Highlight the cells to print
Click the first one in the group, then drag the cursor while holding down the left mouse button until all the ones you want to print are highlighted.

Step 3. Open the tab titled "Layout"
This tab, located at the top of the menu bar, will give you access to formatting options for your spreadsheet. One of these options is titled “Printing an Area”.

Step 4. Define the area to print
Click on “print area” then select “Define print area” from the drop-down menu that appears. These are the highlighted cells that will be defined as the area to be printed and will remain remembered for any future printing until you select another range of cells.
- The "Orientation" option will give you the choice between landscape (horizontal) and portrait (vertical) printing modes.
- The "Margins" option will allow you to adjust the width of the margins of the page to be printed.
- The "Fit to number of pages" option will let you choose a desired number of pages to print the contents of the selected area.
- From the same drop-down menu, you will be able to delete, modify or add content to the area to be printed.

Step 5. Open the “File” menu and then select “Print”
This menu, located at the top left of the Excel window, will offer you an option called "Print settings".

Step 6. Adjust the print settings
Make sure that the "Print selected sheets" option is checked and that the one titled "Ignore selected area" is not.
Note that it is the zone of cells that will be selected when you activate the "Print selection" command which will be printed instead of what you could have selected previously

Step 7. Click the “Print” button
This button at the top of the menu will enable printing of a page containing the selected area using your layout settings.
Method 3 of 3: Print selected sheets in a workbook

Step 1. Open an Excel workbook
You may only need to print one or two sheets among others. Open your workbook using the "File" menu after starting the software or simply double-click on an existing workbook in your working folder.

Step 2. Select one or more sheets to print
Click on the name of the sheet in the selection bar at the bottom of the window. Under Windows, you can also open several simultaneously by holding down the Ctrl key and clicking successively on their respective tabs and under Mac, you can do the same thing by simultaneously pressing the Ctrl + ⌘ Cmd and by clicking on their tabs.

Step 3. Open the “File” menu and then select “Print”
This menu, which is located at the top left of the Excel window, will offer you an option called "Print settings".

Step 4. Select “Print Selected Sheets”
A drop-down menu below the active printer will allow you to choose which parts of your workbook should be printed. The option titled “Print Selected Sheets” will only send the sheets you choose to the printer.

Step 5. Adjust other print settings
The drop-down menus below the selection menus will allow you, from the same dialog, to adjust formatting parameters such as page orientation or margin width.
Select "Ignore Print Area" if you had previously selected a range to print and wanted to reuse it as is

Step 6. Click on the “Print” button
This button at the top of the menu will activate the printing of the pages you have selected, excluding the other sheets in the workbook.
Advice
- When you have adjusted your print range, the command titled "Preview" will show you a preview of the sheet as it will be printed.
- In order to print the entire document, select “Page setup” then “Print range” and finally “Delete print area”.
Warnings
- You can only define one area to print at a time.
- If you set multiple cell ranges on a worksheet as the print area, each of those cell ranges will be printed on a different sheet of paper.
