Replacing ink cartridges on the HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer, as on other printers for that matter, is a classic maintenance operation. When one of the colors runs out, be aware that you can easily replace the empty cartridge (s) yourself. All you need to do is access the cartridge slot, remove the faulty cartridge and put a new one in its place.
Step 1. Check the power
Make sure your HP Officejet Pro printer is turned on and turned on. The printer must be turned on when replacing a cartridge.
Step 2. Find the cartridge slot
Place your fingers in the slot on the left side of the printer, and then pull the panel toward you to access the cartridge slot. The printer carriage then automatically moves to the left to provide access to the cartridges.
Step 3. Wait
Wait for the carriage to stop and the printer to stop making noise.
Step 4. Release the cartridge
To do this, press from front to back on the cartridge to be replaced.
Step 5. Remove it
Just pull it towards you.
Step 6. Properly present the new cartridge
Hold the new ink cartridge between your fingers so that the copper-colored switches go into the slot first (the HP logo should be facing up).
Step 7. Put it in place
Gently push the ink cartridge until you hear the locking click. The colored dot on the cartridge must be the same as the one on the slot.
Step 8. Close the printer cover
Step 9. Go to the next phase
Then begins an installation procedure (preheating). The cart activates, you just have to wait. When the noise is gone, your HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer is ready for use.
