You will be able to install a gadget capable of showing you a calendar on the desktop of your computer under Windows or Mac. But unfortunately, you won't be able to associate events with it or even sync it to other calendars. On the other hand, you will be able to associate various services with the calendar clock integrated natively with the operating system of your computer.
Method 1 of 4: Add a calendar gadget to the Windows 10 desktop
Step 1. Click the Windows start menu
This button is symbolized by the Windows logo and is found by default in the lower left corner of your screen, on the task bar of your desktop.
- Unfortunately, none of the calendar gadgets for Windows 10 offer the ability to manage events or sync with the one that is natively built into your operating system or any such application. However, you can quickly access the native Windows calendar by clicking on the time clock in the taskbar on the desktop. Click on + to add a new event or synchronize an agenda with the Windows calendar.
Step 2. Click the Microsoft application repository icon
It features a white shopping bag with the Microsoft logo superimposed on it.
Step 3. Click the Search button
You'll find it in the upper right corner of the Microsoft app repository window. You will see a search bar appear.
Step 4. Type HD Widgets in the search bar
This is located in the upper right corner of the repository window, where the button was To research. You will see a list of apps that match your search.
Step 5. Click Get
This button is located next to the application file, which will be added to your shopping cart. As this program is free, you can freely install it.
Step 6. Click Install
This blue button will appear as soon as the Widgets HD app is added to your shopping cart. It will install itself on your system.
Step 7. Open HD Widgets
After downloading the program, you will be able to click To start up in the Microsoft application repository window or on the HD Widgets icon in the system start menu. This icon represents a yellow clock.
Step 8. Click Calendar
This will result in adding the Calendar gadget to your desktop, where you can see the date and all the days of the current month. The application launcher is located below the title Date and hour, in the list of gadgets you can add to your desktop.
Step 9. Click and train the Calendar gadget
This will allow you to move the gadget around and take it wherever you want on your desktop.
- To change the size of the calendar open Widgets HD and click on Settings. Click the drop-down menu below Display size and select one of the two options Big Where Small.
Step 10. Click the X icon to the right of the calendar
This will erase the calendar from your desktop.
Method 2 of 4: Associate a new service with the Windows calendar
Step 1. Open Windows Calendar
Do the following to open this app:
- click on the Windows start menu;
- type Calendar in the search bar;
- double-click the application launcher when you see it appear in the start menu.
Step 2. Click on the gear icon
You will find this icon to the left of the menu at the bottom of the window. Your action will result in the settings menu being displayed as a sidebar to the right of the window.
Step 3. Click on Manage Accounts
You'll find this button at the top of the settings menu.
Step 4. Click + Add Account
This option will be visible in the menu on the right once you have clicked the button Manage accounts. You will see a window appear where you will be offered a list of services that you can associate with your calendar.
Step 5. Click on the service you want to add
You can associate services such as your Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, Google, Yahoo or iCloud accounts with your calendar.
Step 6. Log into your account
The appearance of the login window will vary depending on the service you want to log in to, but its content will usually consist of asking you to enter your username and password for your account. If you want to link a Google Account to your calendar, you will need to access it using your email address and password that you usually access to your account.
Step 7. Click the Allow button
This will allow Windows to access information associated with the account you signed in to.
Method 3 of 4: Add a calendar gadget to your Mac
Step 1. Open your Mac's app repository
It is represented by a blue icon with the capital letter inscribed on it TO. If this app is not in your dock, click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of your screen, type Application deposit in the search bar then press the key Entrance on your keyboard.
Step 2. Type MiniCalendar in the search bar
The latter is located in the upper right corner of the screen. This will search for the application named MiniCalendar.
You can also position your mouse cursor in one of the upper or lower right corners of your screen to display the Apple Calendar in the right sidebar of your screen
Step 3. Click the Get button
This can be found under the name MiniCalendar in the app repository. This will result in the display of an install button, below the name of the application.
Step 4. Click Install Application
This button will appear below the name MiniCalendar, as soon as you click on Get. This will result in the installation of MiniCalendar on your computer.
Step 5. Open MiniCalendar
To do this, you can click, as soon as the program is installed, on the button To open, which can be found in the Apple Repository window or by using Finder to search for MiniCalendar in the Applications folder.
- You can also click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper left corner of your Mac screen, enter MiniCalendar in the search bar, without forgetting to press Entrance on your keyboard.
Step 6. Click the Allow button
When you launch this application for the first time, it will ask you if you want to allow it to access your Mac's calendar data. Give your consent by clicking the button To allow.
Step 7. Click and drag the calendar to move it
This will allow you to move the application launcher to the most suitable location on your desktop.
- To add a new event to MiniCalendar, click on New event at the bottom of the list of those offered to you. Fill out the form that will appear and click on OK.
Step 8. Right click on MiniCalendar in your dock
The application is symbolized by a black icon on which is superimposed a calendar page. Right click on it to see a drop down menu.
Step 9. Hover over the Options button
This will result in a dialog showing you offering additional options.
Step 10. Click Show on Login
This option is optional and will allow the MiniCalendar application to launch as soon as you log into your Mac.
Step 11. Click This Desktop
This option, also optional, can be found below the title Assign to. Using this option will associate MiniCalendar with the desktop you are currently logged into.
- You can also select the option All offices so that the application is associated with the desktops of all users of your computer.
Step 12. Remove the calendar from your desk
If you want to remove MiniCalendar from your desktop, click on the icon shaped like a X red in the upper left corner of the application window.
Method 4 of 4: Associate a new service with Apple calendar
Step 1. Open your Mac's calendar
If you can't find this app in your dock, click on the magnifying glass icon in the upper right corner of the screen, type Calendar in the search bar without forgetting to press the key Entrance on your keyboard. You will see the calendar displayed on your screen.
Step 2. Click the Calendar menu
It's located in the upper left corner of your Mac screen. You will see a drop-down menu.
Step 3. Click the Add Account option
You will see a window appear where you will be offered a list of services that can be associated with your calendar.
Step 4. Select a service and click Continue
You will be able to associate services such as your iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Google, Facebook, Yahoo, AOL or any other CalDAV account with your calendar. Click on the button To continue in the lower right corner of the window when you have made your choice.
Step 5. Connect to the service you have chosen
The login window will vary depending on the account you want to associate with your calendar, but it will essentially ask you to enter the login ID and password that you usually use to access the service you want to associate. If you want to link a Google account to your calendar, you will need to enter your Gmail email address and associated password.
Step 6. Finish associating your accounts with the calendar
Check the box next to Calendar then click the Done button. You will also be able to add emails, contacts and notes related to your Apple services. Check the box in front of the title Calendar to associate the chosen service with this calendar and when you are finished, click on the Done button located in the lower right corner of the window. This will result in this service being added to Apple's calendar. You will now be able to click in the left sidebar to access each of the services that you have associated with Apple's calendar.
