For some reason, you might want to download a Google Drive folder to your computer, but you don't know how to do it. In fact, the folder and its contents will be downloaded as a single ZIP file. Before you can open it on your computer, you will need to unzip the file.
Step 1. Log in to https://drive.google.com in a browser
If you're signed in with your Google Account, you'll be able to see all of your files and folders on Google Drive.
- If you can't log in automatically, click Go to Google Drive, then sign in by entering your email address and password.
Step 2. Right click on the folder you want to download
Step 3. Click Download
You will have to wait a few seconds for Google Drive to compress the file into a ZIP file. At this point the download will start.
Step 4. Double click on the ZIP file to extract the contents
On most Windows and Mac computers, you can unzip or extract the contents of a ZIP file by double-clicking it.
