Learn how to increase the download speed of a file with uTorrent. Since sources are places or people who immediately transmit the file you download, you really can't augment the sources without asking people for permission or waiting for multiple sources to appear. However, there are a number of ways you can increase the download speed of your file.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Use common methods

Step 1. Close all streaming services
You should also close any programs that are running in the background. This action will not impact your download sources, but it will increase the amount of bandwidth you can use to download. You have to close these different services.
- Streaming services (Hulu, Netflix, etc.).
- All active downloads (updates to your console, tablet, phone, etc.).
- Non-essential tasks on your computer (apps that run in the background like browsers, Slack, Skype, etc.).

Step 2. View the downloads from multiple sources
If you prioritize your downloads based on number of sources instead of size, location, or quality, you may be downloading a similar version of the same file with more sources than the original.
- For example, you might find that HD (720p) video has more sources than full HD (1080p) video.
- Typically, you will find files that have more "seeders" (those who share the file) than "leechers" (those who download).

Step 3. Delete the files you don't want to download
When you click on a torrent file to download it with uTorrent, the software usually shows you a window in which you see the list of all available files. You have the option to uncheck those you do not want to download in order to speed up the process.
You will often find that less popular files (such as uninstallation programs or tutorials) that are torrenting have fewer sources. If a file has few sources, it might get stuck while downloading. To do this, you must uncheck these items to speed up the download

Step 4. Limit yourself to one download at a time
Instead of downloading multiple files at the same time (software or movies, for example), you could download one at a time to make sure you get the most out of your Internet connection.

Step 5. Avoid high visibility downloads
Unfortunately, you might have to wait several days to download a popular file after it's released on your favorite torrent site. This is because multiple people are downloading it, which makes it difficult to get the file initially. Once these people have finished downloading, you can now complete your download using them as the source.
Method 2 of 3: Add trackers

Step 1. Find a list of current trackers
Type utorrent trackers [month] [year] into your favorite search engine and hit enter. Be sure to replace [month] with the current month and do the same with [year] (eg utorrent trackers January 2018).

Step 2. Visit a trackers site
As soon as you find a platform that shows trackers for the current month and year, click on its link to open it.
- Make sure the site is trustworthy before opening it. In particular, the site must use HTTPS encryption (for example, it must have https: before the www section of its link).
- You have the option to search for trackers on the site from which you downloaded the torrent file in question. Find a section or tab Trackers on the site's home page.

Step 3. Copy the list of trackers
Click and scroll through the list of trackers with your cursor to select them, then press ⌘ Command + C (Mac) or Ctrl + C (Windows) to copy them.
Trackers come in the form of web addresses

Step 4. Open uTorrent
The program is represented by a green circle in the middle of which is a letter U (lowercase) in white.

Step 5. Open the properties of a torrent
To do this, double click on the torrent you want to add sources to or just right click on the file and select Properties at the bottom in the context menu.

Step 6. Click on the General tab
This option is in the upper left corner of the window

Step 7. Click on the Trackers section
You'll find this at the top of the properties window. This action will place your cursor in the section field.

Step 8. Copy your tracker list here
Move your mouse to the bottom of the current tracker list, press Enter to create a space between your cursor and the last tracker. Then press ⌘ Command + V (Mac) or Ctrl + V (Windows).
Make sure each tracker is separated by a blank line

Step 9. Click OK
This button is at the bottom of the window. This action will increase the number of trackers in your torrent, which in turn will add more sources a few minutes later.
Method 3 of 3: Increase the connection speed

Step 1. Launch uTorrent
