Learn how to create an iCloud account by creating an Apple ID on an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or on iCloud.com. When you create an Apple ID, a free iCloud account is created in your name. All you have to do is log in.
Steps
Method 1 of 3: Use an iPhone or iPad

Step 1. Go to your device's settings
It's the gray icon with cogwheels (⚙️) inside. It is usually found on the home screen.

Step 2. Tap Connect to your (device)
Press on Connect to your (device) at the very top of the menu.
- If you're using an older version of iOS, tap iCloud then on Create an Apple ID.

Step 3. Tap Forgot Apple ID or Password?
. Press on Forgot Apple ID or Password?
under the field dedicated to the password.

Step 4. Tap Create Apple ID
Press on Create an Apple ID at the very top of the context menu.

Step 5. Enter your anniversary date
To enter a valid anniversary date, scroll down or up through the sections month, day and year. Then press Following in the upper right corner.

Step 6. Enter your first and last name
Then press Following.

Step 7. Enter a valid email address
Enter a valid email address or create a new iCloud email address. This address will become the Apple ID that you will use to sign in to iCloud.
- Then press Following.

Step 8. Enter a valid password
Then press Following.

Step 9. Enter your phone number
Choose between verifying your phone number by text message or by call. Then, tap Next.

Step 10. Enter the verification code
Then press Following.

Step 11. Press Accept
Press on Accept at the bottom right of the general conditions page. Then press Accept in the context menu.

Step 12. Enter the passcode for your device
This is the unlock code created when setting up your device.
- The message Logging into iCloud will be displayed when you are connected to the Internet.

Step 13. Merge your data
If you want to merge your device data (calendars, favorites, contacts, and notes) with your new iCloud account, tap Merge. Otherwise, press Do not merge.
Your newly created iCloud account is now functional. You can configure it on your iPhone or iPad
Method 2 of 3: Use a Mac

Step 1. Click on the Apple menu
It's the apple-shaped icon in the upper left corner of the screen.

Step 2. Click System Preferences
Click on System Preferences in the 2nd section of the drop-down menu.

Step 3. Click iCloud
Click on iCloud in the left side of the window.

Step 4. Click Create Apple ID…
You will find it under the field Apple ID in the dialog box.

Step 5. Enter your anniversary date
Enter your birthday using the drop-down menus in the dialog box.

Step 6. Click Next
Click on Following in the lower right corner of the dialog box.

Step 7. Enter your first and last name
Enter your first and last name in the dedicated fields of the dialog box.

Step 8. Enter an email address
This email address will become the Apple ID that you will use to sign in to iCloud.
- If you want an @ iCloud.com email address, click Get a free iCloud address above the password field.

Step 9. Enter a password
Enter a password and confirm it in the last fields of the dialog box.
Your password must be at least 8 characters long (including at least one number, one uppercase and one lowercase) and contain no spaces. It also can't be 3 consecutive characters (222), be your Apple ID, or be an old password that you used a year ago

Step 10. Click Next
Click on Following in the lower right corner of the dialog box.

Step 11. Create 3 security questions
Use the 3 drop-down menus in the dialog box to select the security questions then enter the answers in the fields below each question.
- Pick questions that you won't forget the answers to.
- Responses are case sensitive.

Step 12. Click Next
Click on Following in the lower right of the dialog box.

Step 13. Check the I have read and accept the terms and conditions check box
It is located at the very bottom of the dialog box.

Step 14. Click Accept
Click on Accept in the lower right corner of the dialog box.

Step 15. Check your mailbox
A message will be sent to the email address you used for your Apple ID.

Step 16. Open the email from Apple
You will find it under the subject "Verify your Apple ID".

Step 17. Click Check Now>
This is a link in the body of the message.

Step 18. Enter your password
Enter the password you created for your Apple ID in the password field of the window.

Step 19. Click Continue
Click on To continue at the bottom of the window.
- The message Verified email address should appear on your screen.
- Follow the onscreen instructions to set up iCloud on your Mac.

Step 20. Go to the iCloud website
You can log in from any browser.

Step 21. Enter your Apple ID
Enter your Apple ID and password.

Step 22. Click ➲
It is located to the right of the field dedicated to the password. You can now use your iCloud account.
Method 3 of 3: Use iCloud.com

Step 1. Go to www.icloud.com
You can sign in from any browser, including Windows or Chromebook.

Step 2. Click Create Apple ID
It's under the Apple ID and Password fields and next to "Don't have or forgot Apple ID?""

Step 3. Enter an email address
This email address will become the Apple ID that you will use to sign in to iCloud.

Step 4. Enter a password
Enter a password in the field in the center of the dialog box and confirm it.
Your password must be at least 8 characters long (including at least one number, one uppercase and one lowercase) and contain no spaces. It also can't be 3 consecutive characters (222), be your Apple ID, or be an old password that you used a year ago

Step 5. Enter your first and last name
Enter your first and last name in the dedicated fields of the dialog box.

Step 6. Enter your anniversary date
Enter your birthday in the dedicated field of the dialog box.

Step 7. Create 3 security questions
Scroll down to create 3 security questions. Use the 3 drop-down menus in the dialog box to select the security questions then enter the answers in the fields below each question.

Step 8. Select your country
Scroll down and select your country from the drop-down menu that appears.

Step 9. Check the box next to Notifications
Checking this box means that you will receive email updates and information from Apple.

Step 10. Enter the displayed characters
Scroll down and enter the characters shown to prove that you are not a robot.

Step 11. Click Continue
Click on To continue in the lower right corner of the dialog box.

Step 12. Check your mailbox
A message will be sent to the email address you used for your Apple ID.

Step 13. Open the email from Apple
You will find it under the subject "Verify your Apple ID".

Step 14. Enter the code
Enter the 6-digit code provided in the boxes of the window that appears on your screen.

Step 15. Click Continue
Click on To continue in the lower left corner of the dialog box.

Step 16. Check the I have read and agree to the terms and conditions check box
It is located at the very bottom of the dialog box.

Step 17. Click I Agree
Click on I accept in the lower right corner of the dialog window.

Step 18. Go to the iCloud website
You can log in from any browser.

Step 19. Enter your Apple ID
Enter your Apple ID and password.

Step 20. Click ➲
This button is located to the right of the field dedicated to the password. You can now use your iCloud account.
