Step 1. Close all programs

All text and image editing programs must be closed before you can install a font on your Mac. The most common programs are:

  • Adobe Illustrator;
  • Pages;
  • Microsoft Office.

Step 2. Download the fonts

If you have not yet downloaded the fonts you want to install, search the internet for them and download them before proceeding to the rest of the installation.

  • Fonts for Illustrator must be complete, which means they must include the "bold", "italics" and "underline" variants as well as the entire alphabet in upper and lower case.
  • The font formats supported on Mac are.DFONT,.OTF,.TTF,.TTC, PostScript, and Multiple Master.

Navigate to the folder in which the font is located in the left column of the Finder, then open the police folder.

If the font is not in a folder, simply navigate to its location

Click on the font file you want to install.

If the font requires different files (italics, bold, etc.), select each one by keeping the ⌘ Command key pressed and clicking once on each file

The button is located in the upper left corner of the screen. This will bring up a drop-down menu.
