If you want to share a YouTube video at a specific time, there is a way to create a link that will directly open the video at the chosen time.
Steps
Method 1 of 2: Copy video link

Step 1. Open YouTube
Using your browser, open https://www.youtube.com/, to find yourself on the YouTube home page.
- If you are not already logged into your account, click on the button TO LOG IN located at the top right of the window, then enter your email address and password to connect. You need to log in, if the video is age restricted.

Step 2. Search for the video
Perform a search to find the video you want to share. Once you find it, click on it to open it.

Step 3. Select a specific time
Go to the location of the video that you want to share.

Step 4. Pause the video
Click on the button Pause located at the bottom left just below the video window.

Step 5. Open the context menu
Right click on the video to bring up the context menu.
- If the video contains annotations, click somewhere in the window that does not. You can also turn off annotations by clicking on the gear icon at the bottom of the playback window, then clicking on the red slider Annotations.
- If you are on Mac, hold down the control key while clicking on the video.

Step 6. Open the share menu
Click Copy Video URL From This Clip. By doing this, you will save the URL of the video to your clipboard.
If you prefer to directly share the link using YouTube's sharing options, rather than copying and pasting it elsewhere, you can click the Share button which is located at the bottom right of the playback window. A checkbox will appear, which will allow you to choose whether you want your link to be from the selected instant or not. Check the box, then choose to copy the link, message it to a contact, or share it on a social network

Step 7. Paste the link
To paste the link into a text field (for example, a post on Facebook or in an email), click inside this field, then simultaneously press the Ctrl + V keys on Windows or ⌘ Command + V on Mac to paste it.

Step 8. Add the time manually
You can also create a link to a specific moment in a video by adding the time yourself.
- Place your cursor at the end of the video URL.
- Determine how many seconds have elapsed until the instant you want to share. For example, if you want to share the video from 5 minutes, it will be 300 seconds.

Type & t = # s at the end of the video URL, replacing the "#" sign with the number of seconds (for example,
& t = 43s
).
For example, https://www.youtube.com/embed/dQw4w9WgXcQ will become
- Select the URL of the video.
- Simultaneously press Ctrl + C on Windows or ⌘ Command + C on Mac, to copy its URL.
- Paste the URL by simultaneously pressing Ctrl + V on Windows or ⌘ Command + V on Mac.
Method 2 of 2: Make a comment link

Step 1. Open YouTube
Using your browser, open https://www.youtube.com/, to find yourself on the YouTube home page.
On phone, all you have to do is tap the YouTube app icon

Step 2. Search for the video
Perform a search to find the video you want to share. Once you find it, click on it to open it.

Step 3. Note the moment to share
Go to the section of the video you want to share, then look at the timestamp that displays at the bottom left of the playback window.

For example, if the video is 20 minutes long and you want to share it from 5 minutes, you will see displayed
5:00 / 20:00
at the bottom left. In this specific case, "5:00" is the current time stamp.

Step 4. Scroll down to the comments section
Scroll down to get to the comments section.
On a phone, you'll need to scroll through the entire recommendations section first before you get to the comments section

Step 5. Select the comment field
Click or tap in the comments text field. This can be found at the very top of the comments section.

Step 6. Enter the timestamp
Fill in the time for which you want to link. For example, 5:00.

Step 7. Click ADD A COMMENT
It's the blue button to the right of the field Remark. By doing this, you will post your comment and turn the timestamp into a link. You or any other user can click this link to go directly to the specified time.
