Who taught you to deep cleanse? There are so many books out there that teach you how to cleanse almost anything, why isn't there one that tells you how to cleanse your body? You can learn the proper technique for bathing and choosing the right personal hygiene products, to clean yourself thoroughly and prevent the return of dirt. Stay clean both outside and inside.
Part 1 of 2: wash properly
Step 1. Get back to basics
To be really clean, you first need to understand what you're going to be doing. There are many types of solvents, soaps, cleansers, exfoliators, etc. for the most part that could end up on your body, but as soon as you take this special situation into account you get back to basics. There are three things you should clean when you wash yourself. Each of them requires a different cleaning method.
- The first of these is the layer of dirt that seems to stick to the skin from who knows where. You might even get dirty by sitting in a clean room.
- The second is the layer of dead skin cells that constantly peels off the skin.
- The third is the layer of oils which can also be found under the skin, not just on the surface.
Step 2. Understand how you get dirty so you can find a solution
Dirt or grime that is on the surface of the skin tends to stick to it for two reasons. It usually has a certain sticky factor or it mixes with oils produced by the skin constantly to protect it from its environment. It is for this reason that the dust that settles on the skin always ends up looking like an oily paste.
- The body secretes two types of fluids: oils and water (through sweat). It is easier to clean these secretions and the things that mix with them with a substance that breaks down the oils, making them soluble so that they can be rinsed off more easily. This is the main function of soap.
- Whatever additives, creams, dyes, etc., it contains, the main purpose of soap is to break up dirt to remove it from the skin. Most people think they wash for this reason alone, but they are wrong.
Step 3. Wash less, but wash better
How many times a week do you really need to take a bath or a shower? No more than three to four times. Although recent studies have shown that 60% of people bathe every day, there is some evidence that showers less frequently can help your body's self-cleaning mechanisms work better. The better your body can clean itself, the healthier and cleaner you will feel, inside and out.
- The more you shampoo your hair, the more you remove the natural oils that cover it and the more your body will need to produce to replace the ones you have washed. If you take a break, you might actually find that your hair is getting less greasy or smelling less between washes.
- Some people need to wash more often than others. If you sweat regularly or have excessively oily skin, you may need to shower twice a day and use a suitable moisturizer. Everyone has a different body.
Step 4. Choose a good soap
What type of soap to choose? When choosing a soap, there are three factors to consider. A good soap should remove dirt, remove oils, and you should be able to rinse it off without leaving a film on your skin. There are many soaps that fall into this category, whether they are bar soaps or organic soaps.
- Some soaps leave more or less residue after rinsing them off. You can perform a simple test by taking a glass container, a drinking glass, a plate, etc. (the chosen container must be transparent). Rub a small amount of a cold fatty product on it (bacon, fat, oil, etc.). Rinse it off with cold water. Use your soap and rub it on part of the surface where the grease is. Rinse with clean water without rubbing. Let it air dry. Look through the glass and compare the area you cleaned with the soap with the area you did not clean. Bad soap will leave an opaque stain next to the grease. Good soap will allow you to see through the glass. What's left on the glass after it has dried is what's going to stay on your skin as well.
- People with dry skin are sometimes recommended to use medicated shampoos and soaps while others choose natural or organic soaps to take care of their health.
Step 5. Get rid of the dead skin
Dead skin causes much of the odor. Despite the abundance of antibacterial products that can eliminate bad odors, there are few cases where good hygiene habits are not enough. Remember the locker rooms when you were in high school. Do you remember the peculiar smell there was when you walked in? This odor comes from the fermentation of dead skin and oils that are on the clothes left in the locker rooms. A humid environment filled with dead organic matter (your skin cells) is an excellent basis for the growth of bacteria and the fermentation of these materials.
- Consider using an exfoliating product or a loofah. Exfoliating products usually contain grainy substances like pieces of nutshell, sugar, or other materials used to remove dead skin. They are most often found available in the form of shower gel or soap. Loofas act as textured washcloths used to scrub the body and remove dead skin cells. They also trap bacteria, which is why it is important to rinse it well and change it regularly if you want to try using one.
- You can also learn how to make your own exfoliating product or how to make a sugar scrub. There are many different recipes, but it is usually sufficient to mix two tbsp. to s. sugar with enough olive oil or honey to make a paste the consistency of toothpaste.
Step 6. Think about the temperature of the water
To clean yourself thoroughly, prefer very hot baths or showers, because a cold bath or shower will not remove the oil that is on your skin. You have to open the pores and remove the contents to clean them. Bacteria can multiply in the pores. A buildup of oils can also cause many disorders, from acne to the death of skin cells caused by bacteria that eat them. Heat is the easiest way to open your pores. Exercise can help you do this because it affects the sweat glands as much as the pores, but the heat itself is effective. Take a good hot bath although a quick hot shower can also do the trick. Make sure to sweat to open your pores, which allows the contents to be extracted.
- Be careful that the water is not too hot, especially if you have dry skin. So what is the best temperature for taking a shower? It is slightly lower than you think. Water that is too hot over 49 degrees C will dry out your skin and may cause long-term problems. Instead, try washing yourself in water that does not exceed your body temperature.
- Consider ending your shower with a quick run under cold water. This helps you tighten the skin and close the pores to keep the dirt you washed off in the shower from coming back.
Step 7. Clean the folds and hollows in your body
Rub your skin with a rough sponge or towel to remove dead skin. Make sure to iron each part of your body twice, the first time when you wash off with the soap and the second time when you rinse. Don't forget your armpits, the backs of your ears, the undersides of your jaw and chin, the backs of your knees, and the spaces between your toes. The largest populations of bacteria are found in these places. This happens because of the sweat that collects there in the layers of the skin. Make sure to clean these areas thoroughly each time you wash.
- Rinse your buttocks and groin well. Soap that gets stuck in these areas could cause irritation.
- You should also be careful to be completely dry before dressing and to stop sweating from the hot shower you just took. If you've washed yourself well, any moisture your clothes might absorb will dry out without causing an odor. You will continue to shed dead skin all the time, but once you wash there will be a lot less of it on your clothes which could start to break down and cause unpleasant odors.
Step 8. Steam your face before taking a shower
Some people like to detoxify their skin with steam and that is why they take very hot showers. It can be a great way to open your doors and get a sweat. However, make it a separate ritual from the shower.
Before you shower, place a warm towel soaked in one or two drops of peppermint essential oil or tea tree oil on your face. This can be a great way to open your doors and release toxins without damaging your skin in the shower
Step 9. Shampoo and condition your hair three to four times a week
Moisten your hair well and apply a dab of shampoo in the palm of your hand. Run your hands through your hair to smear the shampoo and massage your scalp for one to two minutes. Make sure you work the shampoo into the hair behind the ears, as this is where the most oil appears. Then be sure to lather the back of your head and spread the shampoo all the way to the ends of the hair.
Rinse the shampoo completely from your hair, running your hands until all is left. If your hair is still slippery, it means you haven't rinsed off all the shampoo and your hair will become greasy again for the next 24 hours. Repeat the same steps with a conditioner to strengthen your hair. Then rinse it off
Step 10. Dry yourself properly
After taking the shower, be sure to dry your body thoroughly with a clean, dry towel. Water left on your skin can cause irritation and redness to appear. Try to dry yourself off as quickly as possible after you finish washing.
Part 2 of 2: Staying Clean and Healthy
Step 1. Clean your towel regularly
Have you ever thought about the towel you use every time you wash yourself? How many times do you use it before it starts to smell bad? Dead skin cells and oils build up there when you don't cleanse yourself properly. To avoid this situation, you are going to need a good sponge, washcloth, brush, or something similar. You should remove as much dead skin cells and oil as possible "before" using the towel.
- To keep your body as clean as possible, it's important to wash the towel regularly and store it properly. Wash your towel after two or three uses.
- Never leave your towel on the floor in the bathroom or it will quickly get dirty and fill with mold. It is important to hang it up and let it dry.
Step 2. Try using a mineral deodorant rather than a regular deodorant
Rock salt deodorants kill odor causing bacteria and help cleanse lymph nodes. When you first start using a mineral deodorant, you might notice a stronger smell for one to two weeks, but don't give up, as that means it kills bacteria that have built up while you were using your regular deodorant.
- To keep odors under control while your body is ridding itself of toxins, get essential oils for therapeutic use, such as lavender, rose, lemon essential oil, or a purified blend that you can apply directly under your skin. armpits to reduce the smell.

Step 4. Try to use face masks regularly
You can use facial treatments like masks regularly throughout the week to cleanse and tighten facial skin. There are several types of natural remedies and ingredients that you can use to make a good mask. Try the following recipes.
- Use honey, lemon, milk, chickpea flour, green tea, and fresh fruits like papaya, mango, orange, or lime.
- You can also buy a ready-made face mask in the store. Read the ingredient list to see if you could make your own too.
Step 5. Try products that contain natural and organic ingredients
You can take care of your health by using shower gels, shampoos, conditioners, deodorants and even makeup and hair sprays. When you put products full of toxins and chemicals on you, it affects your health and your body's ability to regulate itself.
- Avoid shampoos, conditioners, and shower gels that contain propylene glycol, sodium laurel, or laureth sulfate. These compounds can actually cause hair loss, dry hair, dirt buildup, itching, dry skin and sometimes even allergic reactions.
Consider homemade alternatives. For some people, a deep clean means that they are not going to buy commercial products and that they will prefer more natural alternatives. Step 6. Stay as clean on the outside as on the inside
It's important to eat a balanced diet and stay hydrated if you want to clean both the inside and the outside. What you eat has a direct impact on the health of your skin and hair, which means that your diet is an important part of your cleaning habits.
- When you diet to lose weight, you also lose important nutrients, so you shouldn't starve yourself or completely eliminate carbohydrates and fats from your diet.
- Try to increase the amount of antioxidants you consume. Drink green tea and eat tomatoes every day. Every morning, try to eat soaked basil leaves or fenugreek seeds on an empty stomach. These are ingredients that are generally used in detoxifying remedies.
- Exfoliating once or twice a week also helps get rid of dead skin and oils.
- It is better that you prefer hot water to cold water to wash your body, but try to use cold water to wash your hair, as it allows the hair cuticles to lie flat, resulting in to your hair looks silkier and shinier.

- Use medicated products to help with your skin problems. Not all products are suitable for all skin types. Sensitive skin might not respond well to natural peppermint oil soap, while excessively dry or itchy skin might respond better to an oatmeal cleanser to heal it. Talk to a dermatologist about these products and the different methods you use to cure your problems.
