For one reason or another, you might want to hide the friends you have in common with other users on Facebook. Be aware that you can do this using your Android device. While your entire Friends List can be hidden from anyone, the only way to hide your mutual friends is to ask your friends to hide their Friends Lists as well.
Steps
Step 1. Open the Facebook app on your Android device
The icon is a white f on a blue background. Usually, it's on the Home screen or in the apps drawer.
Step 2. Press the ≡ button
This is the menu. You will find it at the top right of the screen.
Step 3. Scroll down and tap Settings & privacy
This is the penultimate button you'll see on this page, and it's next to an icon that looks like a gray gear.
Step 4. Select Settings
This is the first option under Settings and privacy. She's next to an icon that looks like a person in a circle.
Step 5. Tap Privacy Settings
This is the first option under the Privacy heading. It's next to an icon that looks like a padlock.
Step 6. Touch Who Can See Your Friends List?
You will see this button under How others can find and contact you.
Step 7. Tap Me Only
This option allows you to hide your friends list from all Facebook users. However, at this point, your Facebook friends can still see the friends you have in common.
- If you don't see this option, tap See more at the bottom to view the full list of options.
Step 8. Ask your friends to select the Me only option
In other words, ask them to do like you. Once your friends on Facebook make the same change to their settings, they will no longer be able to see your mutual friends.
